Now that you know you can expect God to give you what you need when you need Him, let’s address how to maintain ready access to His provisions so that you can use them in battle.
McCoy, Leighann. Spiritual Warfare for Your Family: What You Need to Know to Protect Your Children (Kindle Locations 1174-1175). Baker Publishing Group. Kindle Edition.
Lie #1: God’s Got What You Need but He Doesn’t Want to Share it with You
The devil will reason with me in my prayer. “That makes sense to me. What you are asking is certainly reasonable! Why wouldn’t God give you that?” And then, when my prayer isn’t answered, the devil comes back and says, “I wonder why God’s not answering your prayer. What if He doesn’t want you to have that? Why wouldn’t He want you to have that?”
God’s Word is the antidote to Satan’s lies.
Philippians 4:19 NLT
19 And this same God who takes care of me will supply all your needs from his glorious riches, which have been given to us in Christ Jesus.
Luke 12:24 NLT
24 Look at the ravens. They don’t plant or harvest or store food in barns, for God feeds them. And you are far more valuable to him than any birds!
Matthew 7:11 NLT
11 So if you sinful people know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give good gifts to those who ask him.
Lie #1: God’s got what you need but He doesn’t want to share it with you.
Truth #1: God’s got what you need and He wants to share it with you.
Lie #2: God’s Got What You Need but You’re Not Good Enough to Receive It
God is the giver. You are the receiver. And the only requirement for you to receive what God has to give is for you to need it.
2 Corinthians 10:5 NLT
5 We destroy every proud obstacle that keeps people from knowing God. We capture their rebellious thoughts and teach them to obey Christ.
Philippians 3:13–14 NLT
13 No, dear brothers and sisters, I have not achieved it, but I focus on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead, 14 I press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us.
Romans 8:28 NLT
28 And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.
phil
Romans 8:31–32 NLT
31 What shall we say about such wonderful things as these? If God is for us, who can ever be against us? 32 Since he did not spare even his own Son but gave him up for us all, won’t he also give us everything else?
Lie #2: God’s got what you need but you’re not good enough to receive it.
Truth #2: God’s got what you need and He’s eager to give it to you. Your goodness is irrelevant.
Lie #3: God Doesn’t Really Have What You Need After All
Luke 4:5–8 NLT
5 Then the devil took him up and revealed to him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time. 6 “I will give you the glory of these kingdoms and authority over them,” the devil said, “because they are mine to give to anyone I please. 7 I will give it all to you if you will worship me.” 8 Jesus replied, “The Scriptures say, ‘You must worship the Lord your God and serve only him.’”
But what about us? Doesn’t the devil convince us that the world can deliver what God cannot? What does alcohol do for some? Dull the pain, rid them of inhibitions, give a little buzz? What about marijuana? Cocaine? Or a new car? They all deliver what their consumers think they need. What do sex outside of marriage and pornography do for people? The devil takes many of our appetites and satisfies them temporarily with the pseudo riches of this world that are really death in disguise.
How do we resist these battles? How do we teach our children to resist the temptations of the flesh?
2 Corinthians 9:8 NLT
8 And God will generously provide all you need. Then you will always have everything you need and plenty left over to share with others.
Isaiah 41:10 NLT
10 Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand.
James 1:17 NLT
17 Whatever is good and perfect is a gift coming down to us from God our Father, who created all the lights in the heavens. He never changes or casts a shifting shadow.
Lie #3: God doesn’t really have what you need after all.
Truth #3: God, and only God, has what you need.

How Do I Access the Riches of God?
Reject the lies and embrace the truth.
1. God’s got what you need and He wants to share it with you.
2. God’s got what you need and He’s eager to give it to you. Your goodness is irrelevant.
3. God, and only God, has what you need.
QUESTIONS TO CONSIDER
1. Have you believed or are you now believing any of these lies? Which ones?
2. Read the “truth statements” in chapter 4 and be reminded that you are the beneficiary of all of God’s spiritual riches!
3. Which promise of God is “Yes” for you today?
