Two Factors of Christ’s Lordship

1: His Actual Lordship

Jesus is not Lord of Christians only. He is the Lord of all. He is not our God, or the Christian God. He is God.

Isaiah 66:1 ESV

Thus says the Lord: “Heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool; what is the house that you would build for me, and what is the place of my rest?

Revelation 19:16 ESV

On his robe and on his thigh he has a name written, King of kings and Lord of lords.

Jesus Christ is Lord. That i not a matter of opinion. That is not a christian truth, that is just truth.

Matthew 28:18 ESV

And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.

Just because someone does not believe Jesus is LORD make no difference to the fact. Just because someone =does not feel Jesus is LORD, once again makes no difference to the facts. Jesus is LORD of all and of everyone.

The people who deny that He exists or that the is not LORD are as deluded and misguided as the liberals in America who has Donald Trump is not their president. Her is. If i say zuma is not my president, he is. as a citizen of SA Zuma is my president, thats a fact. and as a part of citizen of earth, Jesus is your lord.

Some examples of Lordship.

Psalm 115:3 ESV

Our God is in the heavens; he does all that he pleases.

What are you going to do about a drought? or a flood? what will do about a wildfire? or an earthquake? how will stop a volcano or prevent a tsunami?

you will do nothing about there things because you can do nothing. We will not stop them. all we can do is try to get out of their way. natural disasters like this serve as powerful reminds of God’s Lordship and absolute authority upon we, are totally at the mercy of.

God is in charge of the outcome of all situations.

Jesus is able to hijack as it were satanic agendas and turn them to his advantage and to the advantage of His people - because is LORD.

He is the King of all human kings, he is the lord of ll human lords. human governments who rebel against God’s authority can no more diminished Jesus as Lord as a taking a single drop of water from the ocean can empty it. In fact God often used the stubbornness and hardness of human rulers to further his purposes.

Stalin.s raised hand to God. he died, Jesus lives. the inevitability of death to all men no matter their earthly power is a powerful show of authority from God. Everyday every person drawn nearer to the day where they will face the God they spend years running away from. and it will not be a conversation, it will be a judgment, the creature does not get to accuse the creator.

and on that day all the NOTMYLORD crown will do what their LORD tells them to do.

That is the universal side of Jesus’s Lordship. He is Lord.

But there is another side that is vital. we can call it.

Personal Lordship

Personal is confession.

Romans 10:9–10 ESV

because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved.

But this in not just a mouth confession but a profession. That is, it is backed up by actions.

Its not is Christ Lord? Nor is it even is Christ your lord? he is, the question is: Do you obey the Lord Jesus Christ?

Obedience is the test of submission.

Luke 6:46 ESV

“Why do you call me ‘Lord, Lord,’ and not do what I tell you?

Matthew 7:22–23 ESV

On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’ And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.’

Confession without obedience is empty words and fruit of destruction.

But confession with obedience is a fruit of salvation.
