The journey through Ecclesiastes ends by considering God’s knowledge, words, and commandments, which produce delight, truth, and obedience. The final charge is one to the heart: “heed this book,” it begs us, “for in the many days of varied troubles, in it is life.” The words are God’s; they’re given by his authority, and they carry with them the basis of God’s judgment. As we reflect on the past 12 chapters, we’re pointed to God, the true Source of hope, joy, and truth, who surpasses any brokenness we face.
