Bottomline: When the world hand you the power to condemn, choose grace over condemnation.

Intro-
Matthew

18 This is how the birth of Jesus the Messiah came about: His mother Mary was pledged to be married to Joseph, but before they came together, she was found to be pregnant through the Holy Spirit. 19 Because Joseph her husband was faithful to the law, and yet did not want to expose her to public disgrace, he had in mind to divorce her quietly.

20 But after he had considered this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, “Joseph son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary home as your wife, because what is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit. 21 She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, t because he will save his people from their sins.”

22 All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had said through the prophet: 23 “The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel” w (which means “God with us”).

24 When Joseph woke up, he did what the angel of the Lord had commanded him and took Mary home as his wife. 25 But he did not consummate their marriage until she gave birth to a son. And he gave him the name Jesus.

Posture your heart toward Christ and you will experience His peace.

Grace and peace go hand in hand

Three couple we learn from Joseph....

A couple things we learn from Joseph....

When we seek the will of God we will experience peace. The will of God always includes being graceful.

When the world hands you the power to condemn, choose compassion and grace over condemnation and guilt.

-Woman caught in adultery...

Peace is not dependent upon your plans, preferences, or predicaments. True peace is dependent on the presence of God.

Emmanual means God with us!

4 Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! 5 Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. 6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Seek the will of God and you will experience both grace and peace.

Questions to reflect upon....
What do you need to seek grace for God for?
What is holding you back from experiencing peace?
Who do you need to extend grace to?
For to us a child is born,
to us a son is given,
and the government will be on his shoulders.
And he will be called
Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
Of the greatness of his government and peace
there will be no end.
He will reign on David’s throne
and over his kingdom,
establishing and upholding it
with justice and righteousness
from that time on and forever.
The zeal of the Lord Almighty
will accomplish this.
