Application: Many of our Fathers provided for us. They took care of our needs and many of our wants. Many of our dad’s could be called, “World’s Greatest Dad.” However, All fall short. All of their goodness cannot balance out their sinfulness. Jesus came to give us the direct relationship with the Father that we could not have without Him. He is God. He is Lord. He is Everlasting Father.
6 For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
7 Of the increase of His government and peace There will be no end, Upon the throne of David and over His kingdom, To order it and establish it with judgment and justice From that time forward, even forever. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this.
God’s promise would be delivered
16 And your house and your kingdom shall be established forever before you. Your throne shall be established forever.” ’ ”
Jesus Has Always Had your best interest in Mind.
The Book of Isaiah, Chapters 1–39 (2) Unto Us a Child is Born (9:1–6 [Eng. 2–7])
When one sees that God’s fatherhood is such that it does not impose itself upon p 248 its children but rather sacrifices itself for them, it becomes plain that “everlasting fatherhood” must be of that sort
As the Everlasting Father, he loves us endlessly. Let’s enjoy him
2. Jesus Is Aware of All Your Needs.
25 “Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing?
26 Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?
3. Jesus Wants You to Know He Cares For You.
27 All things have been delivered to Me by My Father, and no one knows the Son except the Father. Nor does anyone know the Father except the Son, and the one to whom the Son wills to reveal Him.
28 Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
29 Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.
30 For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”
4. Jesus Will Not Let You Escape His Grasp.
12 “What do you think? If a man has a hundred sheep, and one of them goes astray, does he not leave the ninety-nine and go to the mountains to seek the one that is straying?
13 And if he should find it, assuredly, I say to you, he rejoices more over that sheep than over the ninety-nine that did not go astray.
14 Even so it is not the will of your Father who is in heaven that one of these little ones should perish.
5. Jesus Provides for All Your Needs.
34 Then Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they do.” And they divided His garments and cast lots.
15 For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, “Abba, Father.”
16 The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God,
17 and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together.
