A world in Darkness
A world in Darkness
We live in a world that is inventing new ways to sin and violate the laws and grace of God. This darkness takes shape in murder, modern day salary, distorted views of marriage, sexual immorality, greed, wars and so more. The questions must be asked where did our moral and spiritual values have gone? How long would this darkness govern the earth.
Darkness exist in the heart of man because of the absence of light . Therefore Darkness has no power but depends on the lack of light for its strength.
Apostle John the son of Zebedee is writing to a people after the destruction of Jerusalem and the dispersion of the Jews in A.D. 70 as a testament of
the divine nature of Jesus Christ.
Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”
John *:
John
Jesus is the Light of the World
Jesus is the Light of the World
his is the situation when Jesus now again speaks and declares (λέγων), “I am the light of the world.” The emphatic ἐγώ means I and I alone, I and no other. When the predicate has the article as it does here: to τὸ φῶς, it is convertible with the subject; in other words, the predicate is identical with the subject, R. 768.
This event has taken place after the Feast of Tabernacles (ch7)
This feast began on 15th Tishri (September/October) and lasted seven days. It celebrated the first gathering of the fruit and grain harvests and also God’s provision for his people during their wilderness journey from Egypt to the promised land.
and after the story of the woman caught in adultery.

Christ was and is the eternal I AM. In a series of assertions, He amplified that claim:
1.I am the bread of life (6:35).
2.I am the light of the world (8:12; 9:5).
3.I am the door (10:7).
4.I am the good shepherd (10:11, 14).
5.I am the resurrection and the life (11:25).
6.I am the way, the truth, and the life (14:6).
7.I am the true vine (15:1).
