Introduction

We are gathered here today in the sight of God to see Justin and Amanda to come together in holy matrimony. Marriage is an honorable union between a man and a women and represents the type of relationship that Jesus Christ has for the Church. Justin and Amanda want to thank you all for attending today for this special moment and ask you to pray for them as they begin their marriage.
Justin and Amanda
Talk about how you know Justin from youth group and working together.
Amanda came to Christ at an young age and grew more in her relationship with Jesus in HS/College. Her freshman year is when she really began to take her relationship seriously.
Justin had a crush on Amanda for quite a while. Justin started noticing Amanda at UMHB as a freshman working in the student testing center. He often wondered about her before he was given the opportunity to meet her.
January 2017. Justin started seeing Amanda around Belton and started trying to talk to her more and more. He just couldn’t muster up the courage to ask her to go on a date.
Got a friend to talk to her for him at a Super Bowl Party.
March
Justin started seeing her at the UMHB athletic courts. He was able to get her number after several hours and they began to spend more time together and formed a relationship.
Both of these people love Jesus Christ. He is one who can form a bond that can never be broken.
Ephesians 5:22–31 NASB95
Wives, be subject to your own husbands, as to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife, as Christ also is the head of the church, He Himself being the Savior of the body. But as the church is subject to Christ, so also the wives ought to be to their husbands in everything. Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself up for her, so that He might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word, that He might present to Himself the church in all her glory, having no spot or wrinkle or any such thing; but that she would be holy and blameless. So husbands ought also to love their own wives as their own bodies. He who loves his own wife loves himself; for no one ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, just as Christ also does the church, because we are members of His body. For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and shall be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh.
Ephesians 5:22-31
As we read, marriage is a visible representation of gospel of Jesus Christ. As Amanda submits to the leadership of Justin, Justin in turn is called to sacrifice himself to serve and love her.

22 Wives, be subject to your own husbands, as to the Lord.

23 For the husband is the head of the wife, as Christ also is the head of the church, He Himself being the Savior of the body.

24 But as the church is subject to Christ, so also the wives ought to be to their husbands in everything.

25 Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself up for her,

26 so that He might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word,

27 that He might present to Himself the church in all her glory, having no spot or wrinkle or any such thing; but that she would be holy and blameless.

28 So husbands ought also to love their own wives as their own bodies. He who loves his own wife loves himself;

29 for no one ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, just as Christ also does the church,

30 because we are members of His body.

31 FOR THIS REASON A MAN SHALL LEAVE HIS FATHER AND MOTHER AND SHALL BE JOINED TO HIS WIFE, AND THE TWO SHALL BECOME ONE FLESH.

As we read, marriage is a visible representation of gospel of Jesus Christ. As Amanda submits to the leadership of Justin, Justin in turn is called to sacrifice himself to serve and love her.
Share the gospel.
Marriage is not to be something that people enter into without a strong reverence and love for Jesus. He will carry you through everything if you will both choose to lean upon Him.
The type of love that Jesus has for His church is the most powerful love known to man. It’s the type of love that cannot be contained, overcome, and gives a couple the ability to endure anything that comes their way.
1 Corinthians 13:1-13
1 Corinthians 13:1–13 NASB95
If I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but do not have love, I have become a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy, and know all mysteries and all knowledge; and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. And if I give all my possessions to feed the poor, and if I surrender my body to be burned, but do not have love, it profits me nothing. Love is patient, love is kind and is not jealous; love does not brag and is not arrogant, does not act unbecomingly; it does not seek its own, is not provoked, does not take into account a wrong suffered, does not rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails; but if there are gifts of prophecy, they will be done away; if there are tongues, they will cease; if there is knowledge, it will be done away. For we know in part and we prophesy in part; but when the perfect comes, the partial will be done away. When I was a child, I used to speak like a child, think like a child, reason like a child; when I became a man, I did away with childish things. For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face; now I know in part, but then I will know fully just as I also have been fully known. But now faith, hope, love, abide these three; but the greatest of these is love.
Justin and Amanda, I encourage you to spend your marriage to pursue Jesus Christ and grow in Him as a couple. He will never fail you or leave you.
As Justin and Amanda take communion, pray for them.
