Ronnie...

I first began to learn and hear about God at the age of ....
Roger and I began attending Merriville Christian for a while. We met some great people of the Lord and heard many good teaching in Scripture.
In our incomplete understanding of spiritual things mixed with some things that we didn’t agree with, we ended up leaving that church and sort of fell away for quite some time.
We’ve been coming here for quite some time and since then the Lord has really captured out hearts like never before.
I’m not sure of the date of when it took place but God has converted me. Here’s what Jesus said in : “The wind blows where it pleases, and you hear its sound, but you don’t know where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit.”
It’s a bit like trying to describe the mystery of the invisible wind.
Today, I stand before you as a person who has received God grace of salvation.
I stand before you as a person who is trusting in Christ for salvation and He is my Lord. I’m a follower of Jesus and am seeking to follow Him with you guys.
However there is a twin witness in this place that continues to draw Roger and I.
God’s Word and the
Christ-like love
that is demonstrated here.
Many times when the preaching is over I’ll tell pastor Joel that “You were preaching right to me today, weren’t you!!?” (haha).
Here’s what the Scriptures says, "My speech and my preaching were not with persuasive words of wisdom but with a demonstration of the Spirit’s power, 5 "so that your faith might not be based on human wisdom but on God’s power.” ()
4 "My speech and my preaching were not with persuasive words of wisdom but with a demonstration of the Spirit’s power, 5 "so that your faith might not be based on human wisdom but on God’s power.” ()
I’ve learned that it’s God who is preaching at me, not Joel. It’s the Spirit’s power that is moving over and upon my life.
I’ve never experienced that before and so I find myself drawn to come here and meet together with you all.
The other witness is the love. Aside from the Sunday morning hugs I receive (which I love) I have also been the recipient of a Christ-like love from many of the ladies.
While my knee was out of commission and Roger working many hours, I needed help.
Ladies, I don’t think that I’m alone on this one. You’d never let anyone come over and clean up your messes right? Well, I really needed help and it came to me. Lisa Brown organized it and ....(elaborate whatever you’d like)
We are grateful to be a part of the family at First Baptist Church of Roselawn.

Roger...

Like Ronnie, I enjoyed attending Merriville Christian church as well. And when when I came to Ted’s funeral service God really ministered to me through that message. I really felt compelled to come back to church again, to come to this church.
Jesus said: "No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him, and I will raise him up on the last day.” ()
I feel drawn to be a part of this church body.
It’s God’s word that is speaking to me and it has lit the path back to God and my wife and I just want to stay on it. says, “The path of the righteous is like the light of dawn, shining brighter and brighter until midday.
So for us, the path is growing brighter and brighter each time we come. This much is certain, it is really important that we are hearing the Scriptures regularly and are part of a good fellowship.
So we look forward to serving God together with you all.
