What is Forgiveness

To leave behind

remit Debt I am not going to retaliate in any way

God the Father is the ultimate forgiver

But he cant just forgive some one out of the kindness of His heart

God is a Just God - All sin has to be punished

The Bible says in the penalty of sin is death

like a good Judge, if some one robs a bank the law says he must go to jail so a good judge will send him the set amount of time

So if sin has to be punished-- How can He forgive?

This is where Jesus -God the Son Enters into our lives

There has to be a substitute, some on to take the punishment

and Jesus did that on the cross-- took our punishment

Colossians 1:14–15 LEB

in whom we have the redemption, the forgiveness of sins, who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation,

Because Jesus took our punishment The Father can forgive us

and being forgiven is a wonderful thing
