It’s Getting Ready To Happen

Hebrews
Hebrews 6:13–18 ESV
For when God made a promise to Abraham, since he had no one greater by whom to swear, he swore by himself, saying, “Surely I will bless you and multiply you.” And thus Abraham, having patiently waited, obtained the promise. For people swear by something greater than themselves, and in all their disputes an oath is final for confirmation. So when God desired to show more convincingly to the heirs of the promise the unchangeable character of his purpose, he guaranteed it with an oath, so that by two unchangeable things, in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have fled for refuge might have strong encouragement to hold fast to the hope set before us.
Promise: a declaration that something will or will not be done, given by one.
It’s hard to trust in a promise, when a promise has been broken before -
I promise, I’ll be there to watch you play in the big game! But never show up.
I promise, I’ll pay you back the money I owe you! But they never pay back.
I promise, I’ll never lie to you again! But even the promise was another lie.
I promise, I’ll leave the streets alone and change my life! But you know thats not true.
Baby I promise, if you’ll give me one more chance! But you know that he told you that before.
God if you get me out of this, I promise I won’t do it again!
We believe people based on their promises.
When a person makes a promises, My generations says… “Put that on something.” - “Man I swear to God” “On my momma”
We put faith in a persons word, that they will come through.
The Bible is so full of God’s promises, that it is not really possible to count them. Some people have tried and come up with about 3000. Others have counted 7000. Herbert Lockyer wrote a book called All the promises of the Bible and claims to list 8000.
First promise of the Bible: , "And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and hers; he will crush your head, and you will strike his heel."
Very Important to note - The Bible has general promises and the Bible has specific promises to certain people.
God makes two types of promises: Unconditional Promises – This is a promise that is made without attaching any conditions whatsoever.
Unconditional Promises – This is a promise that is made without attaching any conditions whatsoever.
Unconditional Promises – This is a promise that is made without attaching any conditions whatsoever.
Unconditional Promises – This is a promise that is made without attaching any conditions whatsoever.
If I be lifted up....
Conditional Promises – This type of promise is subject to certain qualifications or requirements.
In this text, I not concerned about the promise but I have great info about the promise maker…

2. His Oath
Hewbrews 13:6
Instead of leaving us in our doubt, God’s mercy and love leads Him not only to promise blessing to Abraham, but also to swear it.
- In this text, I not concerned about the promise but I have great info about the promise maker…
