Born Under The Law

English Standard Version Chapter 4

But when the fullness of time had come, God sent forth his Son, born of woman, born under the law, 5 to redeem those who were under the law,

God’s time is perfect, it is complete.

Nothing God does is imperfect or incomplete

God already had a plan in place.

He already Had a plan set in place

To save ourselves

He waited until the time was perfect.

Roman World set up for success

Born of a woman

Born under the law

Kept everyone (10 Commandments and Levitical)

Knew we couldn’t keep them

Adam Eve

Israelites

Redeem us

We are the people under the law

Subject to punishment

Eternal Death

Separation from God himself

Jesus fulfilled the law Kept it perfectly for us

Adoption

English Standard Version Chapter 4

so that we might receive adoption as sons.

Christ came and shed his blood so that we may know full the glory of God. So that we might know full well the abundance of riches God has for us.

Adoption in Greco/Roman World

Disown natural born kids for any reason

Could not disown adopted children

Gets full inheritance

What does this mean

To believers

That God will not disown you NO MATTER WHAT!!!!!!!

That means that no matter how many terrible horrible things you have done in your life or that you may do later on in life. God will still love you because you are one of his precious children. HE WILL NEVER LEAVE YOU AND HE HAS ALREADY FORGIVEN YOU AND THAT IS WHY WE SHOULD FORGIVE ANYONE WHO HAS EVER WRONGED US!

6 And because you are sons, God has sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, crying, “Abba! Father!” 7 So you are no longer a slave, but a son, and if a son, then an heir through God.

God has chose you. He has picked you.

Holding child for the first time

This is the love/feelings God has for you but times infinity

Sent his spirit into our Hearts

Abba! Father!

Intimate loving personal relationship

The Cross

Thinking of you while suffering

Thinking of you while pouring out wrath

Left everything behind for us!

So we could inherit an abundant grace.

Now the law came to increase the trespass, but where sin increased, grace abounded all the more,

Jesus fulfilled the law!

He forgave the sin.

The grace! Look around! This is our inheritance!

So my question to you is…Why are you hoarding this grace for you? What is it Pastor Danny say to you when he dismisses you from communion? What you have been freely given freely share! Go and peace and serve the Lord! Share this grace! Share this faith! Share that you are a precious child of God! Tell everyone that they no longer need to be chained to the sins of their past! Tell them that there is freedom in Christ! That you have inherited and that there is an unending supply of it! So get out there and take and share your inheritance with the World!
