sons shall bow down before you...10 The scepter shall not depart from
Judah...to him shall be the obedience of the peoples."
Ø Deut. 18:15-19: "17 And the Lord said...18 I will raise up for them a prophet
like you from among their brothers. And I will put my words in his mouth,
and he shall speak to them all that I command him."
ii) (SLIDE 10) What Writings of the Prophets?
Ø 2 Samuel 7:12-16: "12 ...I will raise up your offspring after you...and I will
establish his kingdom. 13...I will establish the throne of his kingdom forever.
14 I will be to him a father, and he shall be to me a son."
Ø Isaiah 9:6-7: "6 For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the
government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called
Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. 7
Of the increase of his government and of peace there will be no end, on the
throne of David and over his kingdom, to establish it and to uphold it with
justice and with righteousness from this time forth and forevermore."
Ø Isaiah 52:13-53-12: " 13 Behold, my servant shall act wisely; he shall be
high and lifted up, and shall be exalted. 14...his appearance was so
marred, beyond human semblance...15...Kings shall shut their mouths
because of him, for that which has not been told them they see, and that
which they have not heard they understand."
Ø Daniel 7:13-14: " 13...behold, with the clouds of heaven there came one
like a son of man...14 And to him was given dominion and glory and a
kingdom, that all peoples, nations, and languages should serve him; his
dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his
kingdom one that shall not be destroyed."
Ø Daniel 9:24-27: "24...decreed about your people...to finish the
transgression, to put an end to sin, and to atone for iniquity, to bring in
everlasting righteousness, to seal both vision and prophet..."
Ø Zechariah 12:10: " 10 And I will pour out on the house of David...a spirit of
grace and pleas for mercy, so that, when they look on me, on him whom
they have pierced, they shall mourn for him, as one mourns for an only
child, and weep bitterly over him, as one weeps over a firstborn."
