Bottomline: Praying your Kingdom come on earth as it is in Heaven requires our lives to match our words.

Give update about NEXT....
Tell Story of The Fridge’s version of the lords prayer

How does one help the kingdom come here on earth as it is in heaven?

We help bring His Kingdom by seeking His will.

“ ‘Our Father in heaven,

hallowed be your name,

10 your kingdom come,

your will be done,

on earth as it is in heaven.

11 Give us today our daily bread.

12 And forgive us our debts,

as we also have forgiven our debtors.

13 And lead us not into temptation, s

but deliver us from the evil one.’

How do we know what is the will of God and what His Kingdom looks like?

How does one help the kingdom come here on earth as it is in heaven?

What is a kingdom?

Citizens.

Worldly kingdoms need 3 things: 1. Land

2. A king

3. Citizens.

In the Kingdom of God…

1. Heaven and earth is His land

2. Jesus is King

3. We are His citizens

1 Peter 2:9-10

9 But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light. 10 Once you were not a people, but now you are the people of God; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy.

He has enabled you to share in the inheritance of his holy people in the kingdom of light. For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.

-

We are to be the Kingdom of light who is reclaiming what the kingdom of darkness has stolen.

Matthew 24:14

14 And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.

The Kingdom is something that is both now and in the future ....
What you do in the present—by painting, preaching, singing, sewing, praying, teaching, building hospitals, digging wells, campaigning for justice, writing poems, caring for the needy, loving your neighbour as yourself—all these things will last into God’s future. “ - NT Wright

“The church as the community of the Kingdom prays for the coming of the Kingdom, grows in the qualities of the Kingdom, trusts in the Lord of the Kingdom, rejoices in the spread of the Kingdom and looks forward to the consummation of the Kingdom.” -Gilbert Stafford

who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of his holy people in the kingdom of light. 13 For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves, 14 in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.

The Kingdom is something we engage in now by seeking to bring pieces of heaven into our world. We seek to do things the way of Jesus.

What you do in the present—by painting, preaching, singing, sewing, praying, teaching, building hospitals, digging wells, campaigning for justice, writing poems, caring for the needy, loving your neighbour as yourself—all these things will last into God’s future. “ - NT Wright

16 Therefore do not let what you know is good be spoken of as evil. 17 For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking, but of righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit,

- “For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking, but of righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit...”

Your Will be done

39 Going a little farther, he fell with his face to the ground and prayed, “My Father, if it is possible, may this cup be taken from me. Yet not as I will, but as you will.”

Praying your Kingdom come on earth as it is in Heaven requires our lives to match our words and our hearts to match our Fathers.

Reminder of the journals weekly challenge
“There is no kingdom that is not about a just society, as there is no kingdom without redemption under Christ. Yet I’m convinced that both of these approaches to kingdom fall substantially short of what kingdom meant to Jesus, so we need once again to be patient enough to ponder what the Bible teaches.” ― Scot McKnight
