Beware - Pay attention

Practicing righteousness - is what we are called to do.
Key - why are we practicing anything in our walk with the Lord
Danger - noticed by men
But they do all their deeds to be noticed by men; for they broaden their phylacteries and lengthen the tassels of their garments. 6 They love the place of honor at banquets and the chief seats in the synagogues, and respectful greetings in the market places, and being called Rabbi by men.
Whoever exalts himself shall be humbled; and whoever humbles himself shall be exalted.
No reward with the Father in heaven.

When you give

It is automatically assumed that all will give to those in need.
Do not sound a trumpet - make a lot of noises so that all see what you are doing.
Hypocrites do this (in synagogues and in the street
Why do they do this - honored by men
Men will honor you for your gifts, but that is all you will ever receive.
Give in secret - we are to help the poor
Secret - kryptos - hidden
Do not let left hand know what right hand is doing.
Instruct them to do good, to be rich in good works, to be generous and ready to share, 19 storing up for themselves the treasure of a good foundation for the future, so that they may take hold of that which is life indeed.
Each one must do just as he has purposed in his heart, not grudgingly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.

Father will reward you

Father sees what is done in secret
I, the Lord, search the heart, I test the mind, even to give to each man according to his ways, according to the results of his deeds.
And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are open and laid bare to the eyes of Him with whom we have to do.
The Lord looks from heaven; He sees all the sons of men; from His dwelling place He looks out on all the inhabitants of the earth. He who fashions the hearts of them all, He who understands all their works.
He will reward you (repay, pay back)
do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, this he will also reap.
you will be enriched in everything for all liberality, which through us is producing thanksgiving to God.
