Climb The Mountain

CIT: Abraham follows God directions to take his only son and make him an offering.

CIS: Isaac followed the directions of his father even when he had questions.

SO: Kids will understand that listening to their parents and God are an important part of Growing in Jesus.

Intro: When I was young I didn’t want to take napes at all!...

SM - If there is one thing you didn’t have to do as a kid? What would you tell kids they had todo? Is it hard to do something when your don’t understand why you are told to do it?

We – learn from a young age to follow the directions of our parents and even God, but it seams at times we don’t always do that.

T.S. - What if you didn’t understand like Isaac would you still listen…?

​ NIV3 Early the next morning Abraham got up and loaded his donkey. He took with him two of his servants and his son Isaac. When he had cut enough wood for the burnt offering, he set out for the place God had told him about.

Genesis 22:6–7 NIV

6 Abraham took the wood for the burnt offering and placed it on his son Isaac, and he himself carried the fire and the knife. As the two of them went on together, 7 Isaac spoke up and said to his father Abraham, “Father?” “Yes, my son?” Abraham replied. “The fire and wood are here,” Isaac said, “but where is the lamb for the burnt offering?”

When God says Go you go. That is all Abraham ever know. Do what God says. Know Abraham trusted in the right God and not all the other gods of the world. Did Abraham do everything right that we find in scripture? Not at all!

You – are an example of what a follower of Jesus is, when you follow the instructions of your teacher, your parents, your coach. You being a leader for Jesus. You don’t always feel like you want to but that is the right thing to do. RIGHT!

We – will face times when it is harder to follow directions. But may others say of you look how good that young lady or young man is. Their is something truly different about them.

We know the difference is Jesus!

PRAY - Jesus when I listen it makes a difference in my life and the world around me.
