What is deliverance?

2 corinthi
2 Corinthians 7:1 NKJV
Therefore, having these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.
Allot of times we as Christians fall under the assumption that once we accept Christ into our lives that we don’t have to make an effort in pretty much anything in life and that God will do it all for us. For example, if we smoked cigarettes before Christ and we accept Him into our lives we automatically assume the desires are gone and there will be no more cravings to light up another cigarette. When we do smoke another cigarette we automatically assume the desire never left or we use the famous cliche God knows my heart. In that same mind set we think once we accept Christ into our lives, that we automatically become a good person and have the best interest for those around us. We take the scripture ( Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.) way out of context. This is the reason why so many people give followers of Christ such a bad name. In this lesson we will examine real close what these scriptures mean and how does one apply it to their life to walk in the full power of the word of God.
