As we began this series we learned a great deal of what was happening with the disciples and the first church.
for instance in chapter one we have learned that Luke is sharing to theophilus what he had experienced when he was with Jesus and what had happened after his death and resurrection, up to his ascension.
Luke shared how Jesus after he resurrected he had presented himself alive to the disciples and further gave them instructions to stay in Jerusalem and wait patiently for the promise of the Holy spirit.
for they will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon them.
Unfortunately, even though the disciples had experienced life with Jesus their focused was still in the restoration of the kingdom of Isreal.
they have not yet understood the real purpose of Jesus, he was more interested in restoring humanity.
The disciples had a lot of growing to do, this is why they needed to wait for the promise of the Holy spirit to empower them with power.
it is this power that will cause in them growth, strength, endurance, the ability to cause miracles
This is the reason why peter was able to stand up and preach his first message with power that had a positive result of 3000 people saved and baptized.
and this is the reason for you and i to also be empowered so we can also grow, endure, be strengthen, and be instruments that cause miracles.
After the disciples waited in Jerusalem for 50 days as they were all together in one place the empowerment occurred and the Holy spirit descended upon them and they began to see signs and wonders and that cause the multitude to believe and fear the Lord and the result of that was a solidarity between them as they began to come together have all things in common.
43 And awe came upon every soul, and many wonders and signs were being done through the apostles.
44 And all who believed were together and had all things in common.
