Lesson 1 - God is Holy and People are Sinful.
Lesson 2 - God is Just (Right) and People are Condemned (guilty/punished).
Lesson 3 - God is Love and People are Loved.
We have all experienced the need for love. Does being rich satisfy this need?
He who loves silver will not be satisfied with silver;
Nor he who loves abundance, with increase.
This also is vanity.
Which do you prefer - eat lousy dinner with someone that love you or eat fancy dinner with someone who argues with you or is silent with you?
Better is a dinner of herbs where love is,
Than a fatted calf with hatred.
What is the greatest motivation for humans?
Fear or greed or hunger for power?
Love is the greatest motivation for humans.
And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love.
Love is the best thing a human may do for other humans. Why? We reflect God.
The Lord has appeared of old to me, saying:
“Yes, I have loved you with an everlasting love;
Therefore with lovingkindness I have drawn you.
I drew them with gentle cords,
With bands of love,
And I was to them as those who take the yoke from their neck.
I stooped and fed them.
God is drawing you to Himself with love. You can’t be satisfied with anything but a relationship with God.
Finally, brethren, farewell. Become complete. Be of good comfort, be of one mind, live in peace; and the God of love and peace will be with you.
Is God’s love available to you?
The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with you all. Amen.
Now may the Lord direct your hearts into the love of God and into the patience of Christ.
Whom does God love?
to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.
Now may our Lord Jesus Christ Himself, and our God and Father, who has loved us and given us everlasting consolation and good hope by grace,
Whom does God love?
Nevertheless the Lord your God would not listen to Balaam, but the Lord your God turned the curse into a blessing for you, because the Lord your God loves you.
If you said “everyone,” you are right, but the point is that He loves you, personally!
According to the Bible, from where do our ability to love come?
We love Him because He first loved us.
Does the Bible show that God wants people to be separated from Him for eternity?
The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.
who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.
Jesus said of Himself that the greatest proof of a person’s love for someone else is by laying down life for someone else.
Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends.
What does the Bible say God’s love motivated Him to do?
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
