15 if I am delayed, you will know how people ought to conduct themselves in God’s household, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and foundation of the truth.
1 Timothy 3:
Mt. Hermon’s mission statement is to Reach, Teach & Equip.
Go, make, repeat!
16 Then the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go.
17 When they saw him, they worshiped him; but some doubted.
18 Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.
19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

went to a mountain where Jesus told them to meet Him.
Some worshiped, some doubted.
Which camp are you in?
18 Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.
Jesus is speaking as the king. All power and authority is His to do with what He pleases.
The resurrection is the ultimate validation of Jesus’ divine authority. He extends this authority to His disciples to continue the work of the kingdom of heaven.
He can’t die, He can’t lie!
Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
Matthew 28:19
The disciples’ task was to reproduce themselves by going, baptizing, and teaching. (Baptizing is a public sign of identification with Jesus and His kingdom.)
and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
Notice teaching is part of the work of the church.
Jesus is with us to our very last day here on earth and then we are with Him for eternity.
