Introduction

Walking with God
Adam - It seems that Adam was used to hearing God walking in the Garden
Genesis 3:8 CSB
Then the man and his wife heard the sound of the Lord God walking in the garden at the time of the evening breeze, and they hid from the Lord God among the trees of the garden.
Enoch
Genesis 5:24 CSB
Enoch walked with God; then he was not there because God took him.
Noah
Genesis
Genesis 6:8–9 CSB
Noah, however, found favor with the Lord. These are the family records of Noah. Noah was a righteous man, blameless among his contemporaries; Noah walked with God.
Abram
Genesis 24:40
Genesis 24:40 CSB
He said to me, ‘The Lord before whom I have walked will send his angel with you and make your journey a success, and you will take a wife for my son from my clan and from my father’s family.

He will then Abide in Us

God Dwelling Among the People

1 Kings 6:11
1 Kings 6:11–13 CSB
The word of the Lord came to Solomon: “As for this temple you are building—if you walk in my statutes, observe my ordinances, and keep all my commands by walking in them, I will fulfill my promise to you, which I made to your father David. I will dwell among the Israelites and not abandon my people Israel.”
God’ dwelling among the people was predicated on their actions
They were to walk with God and His statutes
They were to Observe His Ordinances
They were to Keep His Commands
God dwelt in an impersonal way with the people, separated by a veil and removed by a priest.
God’s intention was always to be in and among His people
Tabernacle - The Lord walking through the camp
Deuteronomy 23:14 CSB
For the Lord your God walks throughout your camp to protect you and deliver your enemies to you; so your encampments must be holy. He must not see anything indecent among you or he will turn away from you.
The people were scattered and people moved far from God and their hearts moved far from God

God Dwelling in His People

Through Christ, God now dwells in His people
The Temple was a picture of God’s throne in heaven
The Temple was a foreshadowing of
God setting up His temple in man
God setting up His Temple with man in the millennial kingdom
God Setting up the New Jerusalem, the cubed city which will come down from heaven
Veil of the Temple ripped
Matthew 27:50–51 CSB
But Jesus cried out again with a loud voice and gave up his spirit. Suddenly, the curtain of the sanctuary was torn in two from top to bottom, the earth quaked, and the rocks were split.
Matthew
Our Hearts are to be near God at all time
God Dwells in Us
1 John 4:15 CSB
Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God—God remains in him and he in God.
The Holy Spirit Dwells in us
1 Timothy 1:14 CSB
and the grace of our Lord overflowed, along with the faith and love that are in Christ Jesus.
2 Timothy 1:14 CSB
Guard the good deposit through the Holy Spirit who lives in us.
2 Timothy 1:13-
2 Timothy 1:13–14 CSB
Hold on to the pattern of sound teaching that you have heard from me, in the faith and love that are in Christ Jesus. Guard the good deposit through the Holy Spirit who lives in us.
Th Father & Son Dwell in Us
John 14:
John 14:23 CSB
Jesus answered, “If anyone loves me, he will keep my word. My Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him.
We are His Temple
1 Corinthians 3:16 CSB
Don’t you yourselves know that you are God’s temple and that the Spirit of God lives in you?
We now have an intimate relationship with God the Father through Jesus Christ and He helps us through His Mercy and Grace
Hebrews 4:14–16 CSB
Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens—Jesus the Son of God—let us hold fast to our confession. For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who has been tempted in every way as we are, yet without sin. Therefore, let us approach the throne of grace with boldness, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in time of need.

Walking with the Lord

God’s desire is to walk with us
Micah 6:8 CSB
Mankind, he has told each of you what is good and what it is the Lord requires of you: to act justly, to love faithfulness, and to walk humbly with your God.
We Now have the boldness to come to the throne of Grace
Hebrews 10:19–22 CSB
Therefore, brothers and sisters, since we have boldness to enter the sanctuary through the blood of Jesus—he has inaugurated for us a new and living way through the curtain (that is, through his flesh)—and since we have a great high priest over the house of God, let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, with our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed in pure water.
Hebrews 10:19-
We can now walk with Him
We can know Him intimately
We can rely upon Him in every situation
He can speak to us, touch our lives and touch our hearts
My prayer for you is to know the length and width, height and depth of God’s Love
Ephesians 3:18 CSB
may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the length and width, height and depth of God’s love,
