The thief’s purpose is to steal and kill and destroy. My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life.

Kingdom Life. Disciplines of Pray and Fasting.
February 1st see the start to our 21days of prayer and fasting. Today we have given out our 21 days of prayer and fasting booklets to help.
Mark 1:35 NIV
35 Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed.
NIV
Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where He prayed.
The discipline of both prayer and fasting is and should be important to the believer. It is more than something that is done every now and again, but comes out of a personal relationship with our God. It is most effective when it comes from a lifestyle that is cared for and cultivated. Jesus’ relationship with the Father during His life on earth gives us a great example to learn from and follow.

Have a Certain Time

Jesus got up early in the morning to spend time with His Father.
Make a daily appointment with God — whether it’s first thing in the morning, at lunch, or in the evening — and faithfully keep it.

Have A Certain Place

Jesus had a specific place He went to pray. Having a designated place to pray helps us remove distractions and frees us to worship and pray out loud.

Have A Certain Plan

When Jesus taught His disciples how to pray, He gave them a prayer outline.
We call it “The Lord’s Prayer.”
Matthew 6:5–15 NIV
5 “And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full. 6 But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you. 7 And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words. 8 Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him. 9 “This, then, is how you should pray: “ ‘Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, 10 your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. 11 Give us today our daily bread. 12 And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. 13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.’ 14 For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. 15 But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.
Mat 6:5-
For Yours is the Kingdom the power and the glory for ever and ever amen.

1. CONNECT WITH GOD RELATIONALLY

“Our Father in Heaven”
Romans 8:15 NIV
15 The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship. And by him we cry, “Abba, Father.”
The Father - Our Father - Allow Him to be Father.

2. WORSHIP HIS NAME

“Hallowed Be Your Name”
Proverbs 18:10 NIV
10 The name of the Lord is a fortified tower; the righteous run to it and are safe.
prov
God is Righteousness –
He makes us clean God is Sanctifier – He has called us and set us apart
God is Healer – He heals all our diseases
God is Banner of Victory – He defeated our enemies
God is Shepherd – He speaks to us and leads us
God is Peace – He is our peace in every storm
God is Provider – He supplies all of our needs

3. PRAY HIS AGENDA FIRST

“Your Kingdom come. Your will be done on earth as it is in Heaven”
Luke 12:31 NIV
31 But seek his kingdom, and these things will be given to you as well.
luke 12:

4. DEPEND ON HIM FOR EVERYTHING

“Give us this day our daily bread”
Psalm 121:1–2 NIV
1 I lift up my eyes to the mountains— where does my help come from? 2 My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.
Ps

5. FORGIVE AND BE FORGIVEN

“Forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors”
1 John 1:9 NIV
9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.

6. ENGAGE IN SPIRITUAL WARFARE

Our plans for our prayer time can vary, maybe including worship music, Bible reading, and quiet time to listen to God. It doesn’t always have to look the same; it just helps when we have a plan for connecting regularly with God.
“And do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one”
Ephesians 6:12 NIV
12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.

7. EXPRESS FAITH IN GOD’S ABILITY

“For yours is the Kingdom and the power and the glory forever.”
Jeremiah 32:17 NIV
17 “Ah, Sovereign Lord, you have made the heavens and the earth by your great power and outstretched arm. Nothing is too hard for you.
Jer

Remind yourself of God’s limitless power and then return to praising Him and declaring your faith in Him:
“Yours is the Kingdom” – all authority belongs to You
“Yours is the Power” – all mightiness flows from You
“Yours is the Glory” – Your victory will be complete
