Application
Trumpets call people to assemble - to get their attention as to something important needs to be announced, a call to action.
Today we blast the trumpet to begin the New Year
We come together to give thanks for God’s blessing in the past.
For the harvest - we bring from that harvest and give a food offering to God.
What did you harvest in 2017? Did you bring from that harvest to God’s house?
The beginning of the year, according to the Bible is the season when we are to be constantly reminded of God’s blessing.
Trumpets call our attention - give thanks and give back
Day of Atonement - Feast of Reflection of leaving our sins behind us and looking to the New Year ahead of us.
The priest enters into the Holy of Holies to make atonement for the people and comes out victorious.
We are currently living in this time of atonement where Jesus presides in the Holy of Holies (heaven) and is applying his work of atonement upon the people.
Before we are able to celebrate the “Feast of Booths/Tabernacles” we hear the trumpet blasts, God getting our attention. It’s a call to celebrate God’s goodness and gives thanks. But then we enter into a time of cleansing, sanctification, a time of drawing closer to Jesus, depend on Jesus while he intercedes for us.
Here at CISDAC we have been summoned today to this convocation. WE have been convened with the purpose of hearing what God has done - give thanks and give back. And to hear where we believe God wants us to go or to do.
