Elevate Community
Elevate Community
Where there is no vision, the people perish:
This verse has been used time and time again and it’s appropriate here.
If we want to create a community of faith, there must be a common goal
What creates community? People, Common Goal, Place...
You can have all of that, and still not have community
On a Team…you can have amazing players, individual accomplishments, a great uniform and never have a team
WHY? Because there is no setting or an environment that welcomes community....and failure happens.
Setting is the environment in which service is delivered to customers, all of the objects within that environment, and the procedures used to enhance and maintain the service environment and objects.
When we create a healthy environment, we are able to exceed expectations.
You can’t change people but if you change the environment that people are in, they will change.
If indeed we find that faith is nurtured in community, how do we make that happen?
Create a safe place.
I’m not just talking about a place where we make sure the floors are not slipery, but a place where a kid walks in and knows its safe to be here physically and emotionally.
2. Be nice
Treat every child like they are a VIP
“My business is making people, especially children, happy.” Walt Disney
This is more than simply treating people the way we would want to be treated; it means treating them the way that they want to be treated.
It means be proactive, and looking for the need.
3. Be ready
It means uninterrupted consistency.
When were ready, community can happen with ease, when were not ready, we will have a community of chaos.
If we create moments that give kids a chance to participate, make choices, and interact with others, they will connect more intimately with the experience and the organization that is providing it. Theodore Kinni, Be Our Guest, Disney Institute
