The Prerequisite to the Call

There has to be some type of ground work laid for anything to come to fruition.

The

a. Hard work pays off

b. Prepare the soil before you plant the seeds

c.

Study hard to finish school with good grades

d.

Change your diet and exercise faithfully to lose weight

e.

Before you become a fireman you must pass the training, before you pass the training you must get yourself in condition to pass the test, before you get in condition to take the test you must have a mind set that you really want to be a firefighter.

Look At Cornelius’s pre-salvation conditioning:

1.

There was a certain man in Caesarea called Cornelius, a centurion of the band called the Italian band, 

  A devout man, and one that feared God with all his house, which gave much alms to the people, and prayed to God alway.

a.

Godly character

b.

Reverenced God

c. Gave liberally into Kingdom principles

d.

Became priest of his house causing his whole household to fear God.

NOTE THE SIMILARITY WITH THE APOSTLE PAUL

A. Both were devoted in their Godly worship

B. Both were Jealous for the Lord

C. Both gave financially

d.

God had Cornelius to send for Peter to recieved the Gospel and Holy Ghost, while He sent Paul to Ananias to receive the Gospel and Holy Ghost

Note in our text Cornelius had his perquisites in order for he and his family were already (Preped) for the receiving of the Gospel.

In order for the Gospel to have it’s perfect purpose in any one there must be a prepare heart and mind.

Note that even Jesus could not perform any miracles in certain towns because of their unbelief.

EXAMINE THE PARABLE OF THE SOILS IN MATTHEW 13TH CHAPTER (wayside—stony—thorns and good soils)

Has your house been prepped for God to manifest his anointing?

We have been calling God to come to our needs but have not performed the pre-needs.

If we perform the spiritual prerequisites, then God himself will call the spiritual things to us.

Start reading from chapter 10:

1-6 cornelius is prepared

9-15 peter gets prepared

21-22 peter receives the men of cornelius

24 cornelius calls all to hear peter

28-29 God will do the uncommon for prepared people

30-33 cornelius testimony

peter preaches the gospel 34

44-48 the Holy Ghost falls on the prepared listeners

2 And when athe day of Pentecost bwas fully come, they were all cwith one accord in one place.

2 And suddenly there came da sound from heaven eas of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.

3 And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of ffire, and it sat upon each of them.

4 And gthey were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began hto speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance

peter’s sermon acts 2:38

39 For the promise is unto you, and hto your children, and to all that are iafar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.

40 And with many other words did he jtestify and exhort, saying, Save yourselves from this kuntoward generation.
