Climb The Mountain

CIT: Isaac watches as his father prepares the offering, and then obeys his father almost to the point of dieth.
CIS: Obedience is what we see from Abraham and Isaac from this point of text.
SO: Kids will learn that obeying is vital as a follower of Jesus.
Intro: Staying late at my friends house when I not supposed to be there…almost broke my thumb!
SM - What is the worst Job ever? What job do you have that your supposed to do that you don’t like? How do you learn to do the jobs that you are given?
We – all are learning each and every day. Our brain teaser today. We all learn in different ways but for me the best way to learn to do something is to watch someone else do it and then I try and do it.
T.S. - Isaac learned a valuable lesson from his dad at this point in life…but he might not have if he didn’t obey him.
Bible -
Genesis 22:9–12 NIV
9 When they reached the place God had told him about, Abraham built an altar there and arranged the wood on it. He bound his son Isaac and laid him on the altar, on top of the wood. 10 Then he reached out his hand and took the knife to slay his son. 11 But the angel of the Lord called out to him from heaven, “Abraham! Abraham!” “Here I am,” he replied. 12 “Do not lay a hand on the boy,” he said. “Do not do anything to him. Now I know that you fear God, because you have not withheld from me your son, your only son.”
Isaac obeyed his dad even though that he was about ready to kill him! What?!? What we can learn is that Isaac say his father obey God to the very end...
You – have been placed in the home that your in under God. When you obey your parents you are obeying God.
The problem is we live in a world that is flawed and some homes don’t have God as the center. That is a hard home to live in and isn’t Gods original plan.
You are special to God more than you will ever know!
We – must learn to list and obey God’s voice a little more each day. The enemy of God will do his best to make sure you don’t obey God. We must say NO to the bad and YES to God’s Ways.
You – are an example of what a follower of Jesus is, when you follow the instructions of your teacher, your parents, your coach. You being a leader for Jesus. You don’t always feel like you want to but that is the right thing to do. RIGHT! We – will face times when it is harder to follow directions. But may others say of you look how good that young lady or young man is. Their is something truly different about them. We know the difference is Jesus!PRAY - Jesus when I listen it makes a difference in my life and the world around me.
PRAY - Lord help me to obey your leading each and every day of my life! Salvation!
