Introduction: Lauren and I finding out we were having a child.

It seems that though we say we are pro-life, we are not pro children.
There is a disconnect between what we say, and how we respond and act towards children.
Children are seen are disturbances and burdens to be avoided rather than blessings to be enjoyed.
I was told by many people before we got married, take some time to enjoy your life together before you have kids.
Now I realize that they had good intentions behind that statement, but the implication is that life is over when you have children.
Its not.
Since, we have become pregnant with the second child, we have had people say things like, were y’all trying again?
Y’all know how to prevent that right?
And again, I submit to you that we say we are pro life, but we as Christians have bought the lie of our society that children are not a blessing from the Lord.
This is the war that is happening within the church.
Outside the church, and possibly even inside the church there is a not so secret war going on against the unborn children who are conceived in America today.
South Carolina 6,040 9%
North Carolina 29,960 20%
Georgia 33,000 20%
Florida 75,990 26%
These are Bible Belt states?
The highest percentage of people who have abortions occur because “They aren’t ready for a child.”
Do we still think its ok to say things like, enjoy your life before you have children?
This is just adding to the noise.
Based on available state-level data, an estimated 908,000 U.S. abortions took place in 2015.In 2014, an estimated 926,240 abortions took place in the United States, down from 1.06 million in 2011, 1.21 million abortions in 2008, 1.2 million in 2005, 1.29 million in 2002, 1.31 million in 2000 and 1.36 million in 1996. From 1973 through 2011, nearly 53 million legal.
One more interesting fact.
China, North Korea, Vietnam
These countries are three of the 5 communists countries in the world today.
They are also three of the 4 countries that allow elective late term abortions. Do you know the other 1?
Us.
According to Senator James Lankford of Oklahoma
There is a war going on against life and as a church, we must be informed and involved.
But why?
4 reasons we have to be involved in the fight for life.

God commanded us to be fruitful and multiply.

Genesis 1:27–28 NASB95
God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. God blessed them; and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth, and subdue it; and rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over every living thing that moves on the earth.”
Genesis 9:7 NASB95
“As for you, be fruitful and multiply; Populate the earth abundantly and multiply in it.”
Isaiah 45:18 NASB95
For thus says the Lord, who created the heavens (He is the God who formed the earth and made it, He established it and did not create it a waste place, but formed it to be inhabited), “I am the Lord, and there is none else.
From creation, God has been procreation, pro-life, pro children.
Inherent in creation and in the design of our bodies, is the desire and ability to create children.
God designed it this way.
When we destroy that which happens as a result of our God designed bodies, we are in sin.
We go directly against the God who creates children, who cherishes children, who values desires children to be taken care of and appreciated.
we are in a culture, who devalues, who hates, and could not care less for children, and ultimately the culture around us is murdering children.

God is the giver of life.

Genesis 2:7 NASB95
Then the Lord God formed man of dust from the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being.
Job 33:4 NASB95
“The Spirit of God has made me, And the breath of the Almighty gives me life.
Acts 17:25 NASB95
nor is He served by human hands, as though He needed anything, since He Himself gives to all people life and breath and all things;
God by virtue of being God, is the author of life. He is the giver of life.
He is the giver of life. not us.
He is in control of life.
he decides when it begins and when it ends.
when we try to take that role, we are stepping in the place that Satan tried to take. We are trying to be higher than God.

Jesus Loves the children of world.

Matthew 19:13–15 NASB95
Then some children were brought to Him so that He might lay His hands on them and pray; and the disciples rebuked them. But Jesus said, “Let the children alone, and do not hinder them from coming to Me; for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” After laying His hands on them, He departed from there.
Coupe things here.
They were brought so that he might lay hands on the them and pray.
The disciples rebuked them.
Jesus rebukes the disciples.

The Gospel commands us to Go to the hurting with the message of of life in Christ.

Matthew 28:19 NASB95
“Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit,
Matthew 11:28–30 NASB95
“Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest. “Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. “For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”
Matthew 11:28 NASB95
“Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest.
We go to those who are burdened.
We go to the ladies who are struggling with how they are going to make it in the world with a child.
We go to the men who may be encouraging the mother of their child to end the pregnancy and compel them for the sake of life.
We go to the children who have been put up for adoption and we celebrate the decision to have the child by adopting those children and bringing the Gospel to them.
We go to the couples or the singles who have made the decision to abort, and we show them that there is forgiveness and hope at the cross.
We go and as we go we teach them Christ and what he has done.
How can we get involved?
By praying.
By voting.
By supporting.
By being the church.
Practically, there is an organization in our county that is doing a phenomenal job.
