I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine. As the Father knoweth me, even so know I the Father: and I lay down my life for the sheep. And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd.
I’m puzzled by some things, like churches arguing over which day should we worship God. Should we speak in other tongues, do you really need to run around and shout or can you just worship God quietly. I’m puzzled why someone wouldn’t want to be able to feel God. Maybe you don’t have to feel Him, you don’t have to take a bath, but it sure feels good when you do. I want to feel Him,
He's been to good, good to me,
kept me out of danger
when danger was around me;
(if I couldn’t say one word),
(I’ll just wave my hand).

He shall feed his flock like a shepherd: He shall gather the lambs with his arm, And carry them in his bosom, And shall gently lead those that are with young.
The Lord God which gathereth the outcasts of Israel saith, Yet will I gather others to him, beside those that are gathered unto him.
And I will set up one shepherd over them, and he shall feed them, even my servant David; he shall feed them, and he shall be their shepherd.
And the Pharisees and scribes murmured, saying, This man receiveth sinners, and eateth with them.
No truer words could have been spoken for Jesus himself states that receiving sinners is why He came.
And as Jesus passed forth from thence, he saw a man, named Matthew, sitting at the receipt of custom: and he saith unto him, Follow me. And he arose, and followed him. And it came to pass, as Jesus sat at meat in the house, behold, many publicans and sinners came and sat down with him and his disciples. And when the Pharisees saw it, they said unto his disciples, Why eateth your Master with publicans and sinners? But when Jesus heard that, he said unto them, They that be whole need not a physician, but they that are sick. But go ye and learn what that meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice: for I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.
Matthew 9:
And the grace of our Lord was exceeding abundant with faith and love which is in Christ Jesus. This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief. Howbeit for this cause I obtained mercy, that in me first Jesus Christ might shew forth all longsuffering, for a pattern to them which should hereafter believe on him to life everlasting.
1 Timothy 1:1
Somebody ought to say Thank God that He receives sinners.
Now the God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant,
And when the chief Shepherd shall appear, ye shall receive a crown of glory that fadeth not away.
Most memorable passages in the Bible
The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
In Luke’s gospel,
Then drew near unto him all the publicans and sinners for to hear him. And the Pharisees and scribes murmured, saying, This man receiveth sinners, and eateth with them. And he spake this parable unto them, saying, What man of you, having an hundred sheep, if he lose one of them, doth not leave the ninety and nine in the wilderness, and go after that which is lost, until he find it? And when he hath found it, he layeth it on his shoulders, rejoicing. And when he cometh home, he calleth together his friends and neighbours, saying unto them, Rejoice with me; for I have found my sheep which was lost.
The important word is lost. Such a tragic word the word Lost.
Sick, broke, discouraged, none are as tragic as the word Lost.
Lost and don’t know haw to get back home.
One of the greatest things that we experience is the search for lost children. The fact is that we don’t know where they are and our mind begins to imagine all the dangers associated with being lost. The longer they are lost, the less likely our chances are finding them and they be alive.
But there is a lost more tragic than a child being lost. That is being lost from the shepherd. To be lost is to be separated. Separated from the flock, separated from the shepherd, from his provisions and protection. To be separated from the fold.
Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood.
So when they had dined, Jesus saith to Simon Peter, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me more than these? He saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee. He saith unto him, Feed my lambs. He saith to him again the second time, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me? He saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee. He saith unto him, Feed my sheep. He saith unto him the third time, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me? Peter was grieved because he said unto him the third time, Lovest thou me? And he said unto him, Lord, thou knowest all things; thou knowest that I love thee. Jesus saith unto him, Feed my sheep.
The word these refers to the fish. Jesus had given Peter a job, (fishers of men) but Peter had gone back to his old occupation. Jesus asked Peter do you love me? Feed my lambs. You don’t have time Peter to be fishing, my need children need to be feed.
I don’t want you to abuse my sheep, I don’t want you to mistreat them, my sheep need to be feed.
Sheep give off wool. If the sheep are feed properly, if they are sheared properly and in the right season, they will give off wool. Wool is used for warmth. Maybe the reason our churches are so cold is that we don’t have any wool. We don’t have any wool because we have malnourished sheep.
