I. What is grace –

A. Biblical definition

B. God is grace

a. He embodies Grace

b. Part of God’s character

3. Every time we see Israel spared

a. God’s grace

b. Even individuals, God’s grace

C. Grace comes from love

1. Not because He has to

2. Because He wants to

3. God created us

b. Love Him, offer grace for the clawing

For grace many times is easier to understand through experience than it is to tell you what it is, just like our young man from the story found out.

II. Grace is easier to experience than to define

A. Christ shows grace through his sacrifice

1. Explain the sacrifice

a. Comes from Old Testament Law

b. Have to pay a death for sin

c. Sacrifice animals

2. Jesus became the sacrificial lamb

a. Just like at Passover in Egypt

b. Just like the sacrifice at the alter

B. Grace is experiential

1. Until you experience it you won’t get it

C. Grace in Christ

1. His grace is greater than my sin

a. – His grace is sufficient

2. He has paid the debt for me

3. I am no longer bound to the Law

4. I am free because of grace

And because I live free that means that my actions reaffirm the grace given to me. I must reaffirm grace in my life each and every day.

III. Reaffirming it in Our lives

A. Accept the grace given –

1. Live out your grace

a. Therefore I will boast

b. Talk about your weakness

2. Accepting grace is beginning of relationship

a. Realizing that the price has been paid

B. Best way to realize it is to give it

1. Offer grace to those who don’t deserve it

a. Cannot ask for anything in return

b. No thank you’ s or gratitude

i. If you receive it that is one thing

ii. Cannot demand it

C. Best way to do that is to remember

1. Grace was given to me first

2. God doesn’t hold anything against me

3. God gave me His son freely
