Though neither account is very long, Mark’s account provides a few more details than Luke’s.

Jesus is on his way to a synagogue leader’s house to heal his dying daughter (see ) when an unnamed woman causes an interruption to His progress.

JESUS RESTORES A SUFFERING WOMAN (5:25–34)
A. Her disease (5:25–26)
The description (5:25) : For twelve years she has suffered from internal bleeding.
The deterioration (5:26) : Her condition is worsening.
POINT - the more she looked to man the worse her condition became.
THE MORE WE LOOK TO MAN RATHER THAN GOD THE MORE OUR CONDITIONS WILL BECOME WORSE.

we live in a fallen and broken world, we are all suffering with a whole in our hears that can only be filled by Jesus.
The more we turn to the world, the more painful the hole becomes:

fame,
cars
relationships
drugs

B. Her determination (5:27–28): She fights her way through a crowd and touches Jesus’ cloak, believing this will heal her!
The Bible says that she has "an issue of blood".
This means that she is hemorrhaging from some place in her body.
What ever the source of her bleeding was, it was a condition that literally ruined her life.
Under the Law, ; , this woman was to be considered unclean.
Anything or anyone that she touched was also considered unclean.
She could not mingle with people in public, lest she cause them to be defiled.
She could not go to the Women's Court of the Temple, because she was unclean.
She could not be married, because she would defile her husband.

C. Her deliverance (5:29–34)
The cure (5:29) : Immediately her bleeding stops.
The concern (5:30–32): Turning around, Jesus wants to know who has touched him.
SUBPOINT - In all that crowd of people, only two experienced the exchange: the woman who touched and Jesus who received the touch.

The confession (5:33) : The woman acknowledges to Jesus that she touched him.
The commendation (5:34) : Jesus reassures the woman that her faith has brought about her healing!

1. GOD WANTS US TO BE HEALED
Is it God’s will to heal His children?
Consider this.
When Jesus taught His disciples to pray, as we’ve seen, He told them to ask that God’s will would be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Would you expect to find sickness, disease, and suffering in heaven?
Of course not!
So if it is not God’s will for people to be sick in heaven, how can anyone think it could be God’s will for anyone to be sick on earth?
IF GOD EVER HEALED ANYBODY, THEN HE WILL HEAL ME
2. THE PRICE FOR OUR HEALING HAS ALREADY BEEN PAID
If we believe in salvation - Christ’s sacrifice on the cross to forgive our sins - then we must believe in healing because Christ also bore our sicknesses
The price was paid for our HEALING as well as our SALVATION
The same Christ who said, “Arise, and take up thy bed” also said, “Son, thy sins be forgiven thee”—to the very same man (, KJV.).
If you need to be saved—forgiven of your sins—Jesus died for you.
If you need healing for some sickness or disease that has attacked your body, Jesus died for you.
3. BE PERSISTENT IN SEEKING TO BE HEALED

We must rise up against the darkness, against principalities, against powers,

POINT - THE CHURCH IS FILLED WITH: SINNERS, SITE-SEERS AND SEEKERS.
TRUE SEEKERS ARE ALWAYS LOOKING TO TOUCH JESUS
v.34 - Jesus addresses her as a woman of mature and courageous faith.
“Daughter, your faith has made you well” (v.
34), is a commendation of honor that Jesus reserves especially for her.
As a bonus, then, He adds two blessings:
“Go in peace” (v.
34), which puts an end to a twelve-year search for wholeness;
and “be healed of your affliction” (v.
34), which assures her that the disease is gone forever.
