Confession
Confession
Sin is the greatest roadblock to prayer. Confession is agreeing with God about my sin.
10 Create in me a clean heart, O God; And renew a right spirit within me. 11 Cast me not away from thy presence; And take not thy holy spirit from me.
Psalm 139:
24 And see if there be any wicked way in me, And lead me in the way everlasting.
23 Search me, O God, and know my heart; Try me and know my anxious thoughts; 24 And see if there be any hurtful way in me, And lead me in the everlasting way.
Praise
Praise
Adore God for who and what He is
1 I will bless the Lord at all times: His praise shall continually be in my mouth. 2 My soul shall make her boast in the Lord: The humble shall hear thereof, and be glad. 3 O magnify the Lord with me, And let us exalt his name together.

Waiting
Waiting
Spend time quieting your mind and heart before God
7 Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for him: Fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, Because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass.
Replacing any distraction with a reverential focus on the majesty and authority of God. Be still in His presence—let your minds be filled with thoughts of Him.
The Word
The Word
Intercession/Supplication
Intercession/Supplication
Intercession is praying for others—it is love on its knees. Who are those who we need to uphold in prayer?
Supplication is urgent praying for others
1 I urge you, first of all, to pray for all people. Ask God to help them; intercede on their behalf, and give thanks for them. 2 Pray this way for kings and all who are in authority so that we can live peaceful and quiet lives marked by godliness and dignity.
Petition
Petition
Ask God to provide for your personal needs. Lay your needs before Him.
2 Ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain: ye fight and war, yet ye have not, because ye ask not.
7 Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:
Thanksgiving
Thanksgiving
Thank God for what He has done for you. Thanksgiving is simply acknowledging things for which we are grateful.
4 Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, And into his courts with praise: Be thankful unto him, and bless his name.

Singing
Singing
Singing Scripture back to the Lord is one of the highest forms of worship and praise.
19 Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord;
God is so good,
God is so good,
God is so good,
He’s so good to me!
Meditation
Meditation
God answers prayer,
God answers prayer,
God answers prayer,
He’s so good to me!
He cares for me,
He cares for me,
He cares for me,
He’s so good to me!
I love Him so,
I love Him so,
I love Him so,
He’s so good to me!
I’ll do His will,
I’ll do His will,
I’ll do His will,
He’s so good to me!
I praise His name,
I praise His name,
I praise His name,
He’s so good to me!
Meditation
Meditation
Unlike waiting, where we are quiet in God’s presence, during meditation, the mind is very active, pondering spiritual things.
Joshua 1:8
8 This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.
Listening
Listening
Listen for that still small voice of God; listen for specific orders concerning your activities.
11 And he said, Go forth, and stand upon the mount before the Lord. And, behold, the Lord passed by, and a great and strong wind rent the mountains, and brake in pieces the rocks before the Lord; but the Lord was not in the wind: and after the wind an earthquake; but the Lord was not in the earthquake: 12 And after the earthquake a fire; but the Lord was not in the fire: and after the fire a still small voice.
Praise
Praise
End as we began--
1 Praise ye the Lord: For it is good to sing praises unto our God; For it is pleasant; and praise is comely.
23 Whoso offereth praise glorifieth me: And to him that ordereth his conversation aright Will I shew the salvation of God.
