The Motives for Our Mission

 

Text: Matthew 28:19-20

 

Intro: The Muslim Evangelism Plan

 

I. A Passion for God

A.  Passion for God is for His glory

1.  The glory of God - Ps. 57:5; 108:6; Isa. 60:19; Ezek. 8:4; 9:3; Hab. 3:3

2.  The glory of Jesus – John 2:11; 8:54; 11:40; 12:41; Acts 7:55

3.  The glory in the doxologies – Rom. 16:27; Eph. 3:20-21; 1 Peter 4:11; 2 Peter 3:18; Jude 1:25

4.  The glory we share through Christ – 1 Thess. 2:19; 2 Thess. 2:14; 2 Tim. 2:10

B.  Passion for God must be supreme in the life of the believer

C.  Passion for God is the highest motivation for soul-winning – John 4:23-24

D.  Passion for God precedes witness – Ps. 9:2; 104:34

E.  Passion for God produces joy – Psalm 37:4
