Full of Grace and Truth
Throughout God’s Word, we are reminded that the church is the body of Christ, each individual member of the church is a container of God’s glory in the process of being conformed to the image of Christ Jesus.
John the Baptist expressed this well when he said “He must increase, but I must decrease.”
John 3:30
John the Apostle said, “The Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth.” John 1:14
He had spent a lot of time with Jesus, He saw Him in the morning when He awoke.
He saw Him at night when he laid down to sleep.
He saw Jesus laugh, and cry. He observed Him in public and in private.
John saw Jesus when He prayed, when He preached, when He praised,
when He was tortured, and when He was crucified.
Every step Christ took revealed the glory of God, the nature of God, the manifestation of God.
Full of Grace and Truth – two of the greatest needs of fallen man.
Grace – giving what is undeserved Truth – honesty to the core with no hidden agendas
So if I am a container of His glory, I must constantly ask myself the question,
Does the world see grace and truth revealed in my life?”
Do I extend to others what Christ has extended to me?
You might say, “Lori, that is impossible.” And I would say that with man it is impossible, but not with God. With God all things are possible. Matt. 19:26
If you want God to be revealed through you more than you want anything else right now, He will do it.
Psalm 139:23-24
Search me, O God, and know my heart
Try me and know my anxious thoughts
See if there be any hurtful way in me,
And lead me in the everlasting way.
