A Disciple is a learner- open and teachable

A disciple of Christ is follower and learner of his ways.
· When Fully trained a disciple will be like Christ
· People are not supposed to be carbon copies of us but following us as we follow Christ.
Our Goal in making disciples is to eventually lead peers not puppets

a. Character flows from the inner man: But it is what people see on the outside.
i. Do People know you are a Christian (Gal 5:22-23)
ii.
Do people see the demonstration of your faith?
III.
Perspective
Your ability to see things God’s way: Hab 2:2-3
i.
Short term (What God is doing now)
ii.
Long term (What God has in plans for the future)
IV.
Conviction Heb 11:24-27
a.
You either believe in what you know or you truly don’t know what you believe.
i. Spending time studying what you believe
ii.
Are demonstrated in your firmness or steadfastness to what you proclaim to be true.
(Faithfulness to the Faith)
b.
Person with convictions will find the necessary means to accomplish what he/or she is convicted about.
i. Methods are of no use to those who have no conviction.
V. Proficiency in Ministry

· Concentrate on Trusting God vs. learning theories about him.

c. Commit to developing a reading plan (1 new book 2x year)

Develop a personal retreat

Commit to a ministry in the church for at least 1 year.
