What is a Wolf in Sheep’s Clothing?
What is a Wolf in Sheep’s Clothing?
“Be on your guard against false prophets who come to you in sheep’s clothing but inwardly are ravaging wolves.
THE SHEEP & THE SHEPHERD: The sheep are Christians who follow the Shepherd, Jesus. He leads us, feeds us, and protects us.
THE WOLF: The wolf is someone who has something to gain by taking advantage of Christians (the sheep). This could be money, glory, sinful company, or all three!
THE SHEEP CLOTHING: The wolf is someone who takes advantage of Christians by acting like one of them and gaining acceptance in the Christian community. They may appear super-great or super-spiritual and use smooth talk to get in.
THE ATTACK: The wolf is someone who causes damage in their hungry pursuit through false teachings and by creating a fear response in the flock. That fear may silence us, turn us against each other, or distract us from the Shepherd.
