It Will be Worth It All

That when we struggle in this life we seek relief and want to escape from the testing, tempting, and trials that we face. Here James does not describe them in detail he simply knows we all face these kinds of challenges.

This is the image of a beset person. Beset on all sides by what they see as adversity. Yet perseverance is worth all the effort it takes because it will bring us to the right place in life; maturity, completeness, full formed and grown in Christ.

Watching “All of Nothing” A TV series about the 2016 LA Rams football season, they ended that season losing several games in a row. After each defeat they would talk about not giving up, this defeat is not who they really are, they are better than this. While all that sounds like a coach over selling the team, James here is saying don’t let the struggle, the grind of life, the adversity you face deter you from seeing that you can come through it and be fully matured in your faith.

God’s wisdom will unravel the best way forward through the trials. Perseverance leads to a crown of life.
