This morning our text comes from the Gospel of John in chapter 17, which is often referred to as Jesus’ “High Priestly Prayer”

“Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.” (KJV)

In the culture which we live in today, it is vitally important for us to constantly reiterate and reemphasize the most important and basic aspects of our faith.

The five “Solas” of the Reformation have historically been a good place to start.

The five “Solas” are:

Sola Scritpura “Scripture alone”

Sola Gratia “Grace alone”

Sola Fide “Faith alone”

Solus Christus “Christ alone”

Soli Deo gloria “To/for the glory of God alone”
