Well before I begin my message this morning I think that I ought to warn you that this may be one of, if not THE, most controversial and difficult to hear sermons that I have ever preached
That’s one of the good thing about doing series, they can force you to deal with some things you might not otherwise deal with
Even knowing that though I struggled with this message to the point where I almost took it out of the series
But God’s Word was never designed to make us comfortable alone, it is supposed to make us squirm in our seats a little bit and wrestle with our own theology and life
Having said all that, and perhaps scaring you a little bit, this morning I want to look at what is perhaps one of the greatest cover-ups in modern Christianity…the hate of God
Now hopefully when I say something like God hates people, the first thought that comes to your mind is, ‘Now just wait a second Pastor. The Bible says that “God is love” () and so I hope that you are not trying to turn us into some Coo-coo church like those Westboro Baptist Church nut-jobs.’
Or at the very least I hope that some sort of alarm goes off in your conscience warning you to think carefully about what you are going to hear because for some reason it doesn’t seem to sit well with what you know to be true
