On searching out the fundemental principles of Christianity I decided the "Great Commandments" to be the answer. Upon further inspection, there is a principle that is primary to both of these - obedience.

Obedience and belief go hand in hand.

How do we love God?
The only way to know is through Scripture. () ()
Love your neighbor ()
You can only properly love God if you are properly loving you neighbor.
These two principles are not independent.
You cannot say I love God if you are not truly loving your neighbor.
You cannot say I love my neighbor if you are not loving my God.

Why are they necessary?
Provide a biblical foundation to Christian living. ()
Wisdom in Proverbs is tied to the worship of God.
Why are they important?
They will become how you view and filter the world. (Is 42:20)
How should a Christian use them?
While it may seem daunting, a Christian can use these principles in every decision, big or small. () ()
