INTRODUCTION

Just as we go in for a regular physical checkup, we need to regularly get a spiritual check up as well.
Psalm 26:2 NKJV
Examine me, O Lord, and prove me; Try my mind and my heart.
2 Corinthians 13:5 NKJV
Examine yourselves as to whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves. Do you not know yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you?—unless indeed you are disqualified.

Ears - Doctor uses an OTOSCOPE to examine your ears

Step 1 - Doctor uses an OTOSCOPE to examine your ears
Are your ears too clogged to hear from God? (v.20)
Jesus said the sheep know MY voice but a stranger they will not follow (John 10:3-5)

Heart - Doctor uses a STETHOSCOPE to listen to your heart

Step 2 - Doctor uses a STETHOSCOPE to listen to your heart
Do you have a heart that beats for God? (v.23)
Be Skillful 3. Wisdom Perfects Our Path (Prov. 4)

Whatever the heart loves, the ears will hear and the eyes will see

Whatever the heart loves, the ears will hear and the eyes will see
this verse tells us to guard our hearts

Mouth - Doctor tells you to stick out your tongue to check your tongue

Step 3 - Doctor tells you to stick out your tongue to check your tongue

Eyes - Doctor shines a flashlight into your eyes

Step 4 - Doctor shines a flashlight into your eyes
Do you have a condition called, “Wandering Eye?” (v. 21, 25)
Outlook determines outcome.
Abraham was the friend of God because he walked by faith and “looked for a city … whose builder and maker is God” ().
Lot became a friend of the world because he walked by sight and moved toward the wicked city of Sodom (, ).
Everybody has some vision before them that helps to determine their values, actions, and plans.
If we look back we might be like Lot’s wife (turned into a pillar of salt)
So we keep looking forward to the hills from whence cometh our help

Feet - Doctor examines your feet to see if their healthy

Step 5 - Doctor examines your feet to see if their healthy
Are you walking the narrow path of the Savior or the wide path of sin? (v.26,27)
Our “Walk” determines where we’re going
Psalm 119:105 NKJV
Your word is a lamp to my feet And a light to my path.
Matthew 7:13–14 NKJV
“Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.
Proverbs 3:5–6 NKJV
Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.

Section 2 - Prescription

Change our Diets

Psalm 1:2 NKJV
But his delight is in the law of the Lord, And in His law he meditates day and night.
Exercise Regularly (thru prayer, praise and fellowship)

1. Prayer -

Philippians 4:6 NKJV
Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God;

2. Praise -

Psalm 150:6 NKJV
Let everything that has breath praise the Lord. Praise the Lord!

3. Fellowship -

Hebrews 10:25 NKJV
not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.

Conclusion

Blood

One more test. Doctor takes the syringe and draws out blood.
Who’s blood is coursing through our veins?
Romans 3:25 NKJV
whom God set forth as a propitiation by His blood, through faith, to demonstrate His righteousness, because in His forbearance God had passed over the sins that were previously committed,
Revelation 1:5 NKJV
and from Jesus Christ, the faithful witness, the firstborn from the dead, and the ruler over the kings of the earth. To Him who loved us and washed us from our sins in His own blood,
rev
1 John 1:7 NKJV
But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin.
Ephesians 1:7 NKJV
In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace
Matthew 26:28 NKJV
For this is My blood of the new covenant, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.
Ephesians 2:13 NKJV
But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ.
