Title: Complete Fellowship With Jesus
Application: We all know the difference between light and darkness. The problem comes when we spiritually think we are in the light but really in the darkness. Fellowship with Christ is obtained when we develop a time of confession in our daily life.
1 John 1:5–10 NKJV
5 This is the message which we have heard from Him and declare to you, that God is light and in Him is no darkness at all. 6 If we say that we have fellowship with Him, and walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth. 7 But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin. 8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. 9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His word is not in us.
The importance of preaching through this series on 1 John is for the reason. There are many who because off people saying that they believe in Jesus is just like they believe the sun is coming up tomorrow have not been prepared for eternity.
PASTORS JOB:
1, 2, 3 John: MacArthur New Testament Commentary Chapter 2: Tests of Salvation—Part 1: Belief in God and the Certainty of Sin (1 John 1:5–6, 8, 10)

He must also give his people tests by which they can distinguish true believers from counterfeit professors. Making that fundamental distinction is essential to the church’s protection and spiritual growth

My brother 8-9 year old boy walked the isle. At 19 he realized by the solid teaching of the Word that he was not saved. He died of complications of cancer during treatment at 27, 11 years ago. At 7 years he was saved, what if that teaching had never been taught. You see Jesus taught about there is many who really think they are saved. They believe in Jesus as God, they go to church, they do good deeds, they are good people, but when it comes to sin they have tried to manage it on their own. You cannot.
You must repent, turn from sin and realize when it comes up that Jesus has covered it, paid for it, sealed you for the day you will be redeemed.
(WE ALL HAVE OUR DAY) and live your life knowing that I am a sinner saved by Grace.
Psalm 85:2 NKJV
2 You have forgiven the iniquity of Your people; You have covered all their sin. Selah
Romans 5:8 NKJV
8 But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
Ephesians 4:30 NKJV
30 And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.
YOU NEED TO LOOK NO FURTHER THAN YOUR SELF TO DETERMINE YES I AM A TRUE BELIEVER
LADY SEVERAL MONTHS AGO 80’s CAME TO MY OFFICE AND SAID IM NOT SAVED. (Deacons Wife)

Tell the Story

In one of his sermons, E. V. Hill tells of a time when he preached in Michigan with Dr. Jack Hyles, the former pastor of First Baptist Church in Hammond, Indiana. Hyles' church averaged 20,000 in Sunday school back then. "[E. V.] asked, "Jack, let me in on why you're so caught up in soul winning. You're on the verge of fanatic. What's behind all that?" He said, "One night, I was awakened by this piercing scream from my sister. I ran upstairs to her bedroom, and there she was sweating and in hysterics. I shook her, and I couldn't get her attention, so I had to slap her. I said, 'What's wrong? You had a dream?' She said, 'No, no dream.' I said, 'You had a nightmare?' She said, 'No it was real.' I said, 'What happened?' She said, 'Jack, I just got back from hell. After a few miles of the glitter and lights and all of that which deceives mankind, there was nothing but desolation. It was a bummed-out situation. It's nothing but desolation and hopelessness. You walk towards the gates of hell knowing that you will never again be free. I got to the gates of hell and the keeper said, "Hold it." I stood outside hell, and I saw people whose faces were twisted and tongues were thick, eyes bulging and hands split, dropping blood. I said, "Sir, please let some air in." And he said, "No air in hell." Then I said, "Kind sir, let them have a drink of water." And he said, "No water in hell." Then I said, "If that's true, let 'em die." And he said, "No death in hell." She said, "My God, how long will they suffer?" And he said, "Forever and ever! Hell has no exit and there is no death." "She said, 'Just as I turned to leave, he said, "Go back and tell the story." And just as I turned I saw Daddy.'" And I said, "Yep, our Daddy is in hell, because he never got around to doing the most important thing. He schooled us, he fed us, but he never got around to saying yes to Jesus Christ." Jack concluded by saying, "I win souls every day so that nobody else's daddy has to go to hell." Citation: E. V. Hill, A Savior Worth Having (Chicago: Moody Press, 2002), 91-2.
What is darkness?
Mark 7:20–23 NKJV
20 And He said, “What comes out of a man, that defiles a man. 21 For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, 22 thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lewdness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness. 23 All these evil things come from within and defile a man.”
MArk 7:
,
20 And He said, “What comes out of a man, that defiles a man. 21 For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, (reasoning) adulteries, fornications, murders, 22 thefts, covetousness, wickedness,(perversion) deceit, lewdness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness. 23 All these evil things come from within and defile a man.”[1]
Darkness
1. We are unaware of what is around us.
2. We don’t see the danger we are in.
NOTE: PEOPLE HAS REDEFINED SIN. THEY CALL IT DISORDERS AND ILLNESSES AND ADDICTIONS. PEOPLE TRY TO FIND ALL KIND OF WAYS TO CURE THESE ISSUES.

Yet, many in the church today seem to be reluctant to make the diagnosis Jesus did, for fear they might offend someone or be deemed “unloving.” Thus, sin is explained away in culturally acceptable terms.

3. We can’t see where we are going.
Matthew 7:21–23 NKJV
21 “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. 22 Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ 23 And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’
Genesis 6:5 NKJV
5 Then the Lord saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.
Genesis 6:15 NKJV
15 And this is how you shall make it: The length of the ark shall be three hundred cubits, its width fifty cubits, and its height thirty cubits.
Then the Lord saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually ()
Jeremiah 17:9 NKJV
9 “The heart is deceitful above all things, And desperately wicked; Who can know it?
THE HOPE WE HAVE
“The heart is deceitful above all things,
And desperately wicked;
Who can know it?
Confession
1 John 1:8–10 NKJV
8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. 9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His word is not in us.
1 John 1:
Romans 6:1–2 NKJV
1 What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound? 2 Certainly not! How shall we who died to sin live any longer in it?
John 3:19 NKJV
19 And this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.
John 3:20–21 NKJV
20 For everyone practicing evil hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his deeds should be exposed. 21 But he who does the truth comes to the light, that his deeds may be clearly seen, that they have been done in God.”
What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound? 2 Certainly not! How shall we who died to sin live any longer in it?
John 3:
Jesus says in John3:19,
19 And this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. 20 For everyone practicing evil hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his deeds should be exposed. 21 But he who does the truth comes to the light, that his deeds may be clearly seen, that they have been done in God.”
