1 Corinthians 2:1 NKJV
And I, brethren, when I came to you, did not come with excellence of speech or of wisdom declaring to you the testimony of God.
,
1 Corinthians 2:4 NKJV
And my speech and my preaching were not with persuasive words of human wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power,

1. Leadership is influence.

Bernard Montgomery - “Leadership is the capacity and will to rally men and women to a common purpose, and the character which inspires confidence.”
Admiral Nimitz - “Leadership may be defined as that quality that inspires sufficient confidence in subordinates as to be willing to accept his views and carry out his commands.”
Li Hung Chang - “There are only 3 kinds of people-those who are immovable, those who are movable, and those who move them!”
John Mott - “A leader is a man who knows the road, who can keep ahead, and who pulls others after him.”
P.T. Chandapilla - “Christian leadership is a vocation that blends both human and divine qualities in a harmony of ministry by God and His people for the blessing of others.”

2. Spiritual Leadership - a blend of natural and spiritual qualities

Natural qualities are supernatural gifts, since all good things come from God.
Both natural and spiritual qualities reach their greatest effectiveness when employed in the service of God and for His glory.
Spiritual leadership is above the power of personality and other natural gifts.
The personality influences others because it’s penetrated, saturated, and empowered by the Holy Spirit.
As the leader gives control of his life to the Spirit, the Spirit’s power flows through him to others.
Spiritual leadership requires superior spiritual power, which can never be generated by the self.
Self-made spiritual leader?
Influences others because the Spirit works in and through him to a greater level than in those he leads.

3. Spiritual Leadership - Born or Made?

Both
Some specific qualities only come from God.
Skills are distributed widely among every community
Usually skills stay dormant until a crisis arises
Became leaders by opportunity and timing such as crisis
More likely by the result of hidden training
Joseph is a perfect example - 13 years of hidden training under the hand of God.
