What to do when I’m facing difficult situations?

James 1:2–8 NKJV
My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing. If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.
James 1
James
Sometimes, God allows us to wrestle with our difficulties so that He can shape us. He teaches us of His character, His nature, His will, and His ways. He is creating a masterpiece for His glory and you are that masterpiece. Every intricate detail and every minor curve of your character is shaped by God. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.

Ephesians 2:10 ESV

Count it all joy when you fall into various trials
Why should we count it all joy when we face a variety of trying situations? Trials produce patience. What is patience? Patience is the capacity to continue to bear up under difficult circumstances

Let patience have its perfect work. Patience produces maturity
Philippians 4:10-13 But I rejoiced in the Lord greatly that now at last your care for me has flourished again; though you surely did care, but you lacked opportunity. 11 Not that I speak in regard to need, for I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content: 12 I know how to be abased, and I know how to abound. Everywhere and in all things I have learned both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need. 13 I can do all things through Christ[b] who strengthens me.

Why do I Acknowledge, Allow, and Ask of God in my difficult situations?
Because I am pursuing God! The purpose of my life is to bring splendor/honor to His name. To pursue means to chase after. But what’s better than my pursuit of God is His pursuit of me. He is chasing after me like I’m a fallen soldier who has been wounded on the battlefield, left alone, bullets flying all around, and no hope for survival. He is chasing after your heart; to love you, to put His arms around you, to squeeze you tightly; He wants you.

[NLT] Surely your goodness and unfailing love will pursue me all the days of my life, and I will live in the house of the Lord forever.

Pursue God!
