The Transformation from the King

Righteous and Kind Protection

Isaiah 32:1–2 HCSB
1 Indeed, a king will reign righteously, and rulers will rule justly. 2 Each will be like a shelter from the wind, a refuge from the rain, like streams of water in a dry land and the shade of a massive rock in an arid land.
In verse 1, Isaiah references A King
In chapter 33.17 he references THE KING
Isaiah 33:17 HCSB
17 Your eyes will see the King in His beauty; you will see a vast land.
and then in verse 22 he say OUR KING.
Isaiah 33:22 HCSB
22 For the Lord is our Judge, the Lord is our lawgiver, the Lord is our King. He will save us.
That’s a beautiful progression of thought.
He IS A King… He is THE King! But is He YOUR KING? Do you know Him as your Lord and Savior?
Isaiah promises that when the King comes, He will give cover and refuge.
He compares it to a man hiding from the wind, or taking shelter from a storm, or finding water in a dry place, or shade in the hot sun.
That’s a pretty comphehsive way of saying GOD WILL TAKE CARE OF YOU!

Spiritual Wisdom 3-4

Isaiah 32:3–4 HCSB
3 Then the eyes of those who see will not be closed, and the ears of those who hear will listen. 4 The reckless mind will gain knowledge, and the stammering tongue will speak clearly and fluently.
Today, just in Isaiah’s day, there is a famine for good, Bible based preaching and teaching that is truly line upon line and precept upon precept.
Isaiah points to a day when there will plenty of spiritual wisdom.
There is also in our day, a lack of interest in knowing the Word.
Here is a thought: How hard do you work to find ways to be under the teaching and preaching of God’s Word. I was thinking about it this week. I spend most weeks preparing for 4 distinct messages or lessons… almost every week.
Isaiah says in verse 4 that when the King comes even the rash or hasty… I think maybe those that are “too rushed” and impatient will want to know the Word.
and even the stammering tongue that doesn’t know God’s Word well enough to share it with others will be ready to speak plainly.
But shouldn’t a follower of Jesus be looking for that NOW not just in the sweet by and by?

Right the wrongs of social injustice

Isaiah 32:5–8 HCSB
5 A fool will no longer be called a noble, nor a scoundrel said to be important. 6 For a fool speaks foolishness and his mind plots iniquity. He lives in a godless way and speaks falsely about the Lord. He leaves the hungry empty and deprives the thirsty of drink. 7 The scoundrel’s weapons are destructive; he hatches plots to destroy the needy with lies, even when the poor says what is right. 8 But a noble person plans noble things; he stands up for noble causes.
I know the millennials think they are the first to be concerned about this, but Isaiah predicts a day when the King of Kings and Lord of Lords sets things straight!
But he’s not sending out a tweet, or a blog about it. He rights the wrongs!
Oh, and maybe its good to remind ourselves that HE makes the list of what is right and wrong!
The Living Bible says it this way: "wealthy cheaters will not be spoken of as generous, outstanding men! Everyone will recognize and evil man when he sees him, and hypocrites will fool no one at all."
Surely this covers several categories that people fawn over today, including TV preachers, the rich and famous, athletes, celebrities, and politicians.
DON’t MISS that God is concerned about the poor and helpless who are oppressed at the hand of the lying rich!
Let me hasten to say, riches aren’t the problem, God gives many people the ability to gain wealth so that they can use that for His purposes. Its the lying greedy manipulating wealthy that God is concerned about!
IT seems to me that if this is the way it WILL be when the King comes, then we should desire it to be so in our own lives while He is away.
We should realize we can trust in the care and protection of our King today.
We should seek to feed on and understand and apply and communicate spiritual wisdom now. (My heart and flesh cry out for you the living God)
We should be concerned with right and wrong… we should seek ways to help the helpless and show generosity to the needy… and we should look out for “celebrity worship” in our own hearts!
