In the life of every believer there there will be times we face unknown variables in life. It is not the challenges that define us but how we face them. There is one reality that is ever existent in every generations and among every people and culture. Proverbs 14:34 ...Sin is a reproach to any people.

1 Kings 18:41–43 KJV 1900
41 And Elijah said unto Ahab, Get thee up, eat and drink; for there is a sound of abundance of rain. 42 So Ahab went up to eat and to drink. And Elijah went up to the top of Carmel; and he cast himself down upon the earth, and put his face between his knees, 43 And said to his servant, Go up now, look toward the sea. And he went up, and looked, and said, There is nothing. And he said, Go again seven times.

Life is full of Variables

Life is full of Variables

1 Kings 18:41–43 KJV 1900
41 And Elijah said unto Ahab, Get thee up, eat and drink; for there is a sound of abundance of rain. 42 So Ahab went up to eat and to drink. And Elijah went up to the top of Carmel; and he cast himself down upon the earth, and put his face between his knees, 43 And said to his servant, Go up now, look toward the sea. Job 14:1 KJV 1900
1 Man that is born of a woman Is of few days, and full of trouble.
John 16:33 KJV 1900
33 These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.

How can these words bring peace in the word as it is today?

Today our World has changed
++Violence is on the rise
++Sacred institutions undermined
Safe Places are not safe anymore
++Churches
++Law Offices
++Public Transportation
++Schools
This is the definition of trouble.
These are not terrorist plots
++Not acts of war
++Not terrorist plots
++The acting out of evil
This is not an evil that is on the outside
++It rages within
++Not within society
++But within us

Why is there such an attraction to violence in man?

John 3:19 KJV 1900
19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.
Light & Darkness
++They are not opposites
++They oppose each other
++The are antagonistic to one another
++They cannot coexist in the same place
Have ever met someone that just rubs you wrong?
Your just want to get away from them.
John 8:12 KJV 1900
12 Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.
John 1:5 KJV 1900
5 And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.
John 8
Light dispels darkness
++Darkness must exist before light can come
++Darkness presence the greatest opportunity
++Light empowers sight
++Light
++Light allows our Eyes to see
Matthe
Matthew 6:23 KJV 1900
23 But if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is that darkness!
What are you looking at?

We live in perilous times

2 Timothy 3:1–5 KJV 1900
1 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. 2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, 3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, 4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; 5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.
1 Timothy 3:1–5 KJV 1900
1 This is a true saying, If a man desire the office of a bishop, he desireth a good work. 2 A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behaviour, given to hospitality, apt to teach; 3 Not given to wine, no striker, not greedy of filthy lucre; but patient, not a brawler, not covetous; 4 One that ruleth well his own house, having his children in subjection with all gravity; 5 (For if a man know not how to rule his own house, how shall he take care of the church of God?)

43 And said to his servant, Go up now, look toward the sea. And he went up, and looked, and said, There is nothing. And he said, Go again seven times. 44 And it came to pass at the seventh time, that he said, Behold, there ariseth a little cloud out of the sea, like a man’s hand. And he said, Go up, say unto Ahab, Prepare thy chariot, and get thee down, that the rain stop thee not. 45 And it came to pass in the mean while, that the heaven was black with clouds and wind, and there was a great rain. And Ahab rode, and went to Jezreel.
