Gospel: Luke 13:22-30
Gospel Exegesis:
We are reminded that Jesus is on the journey to Jerusalem to offer himself in sacrifice. On this journey he has intensified the teaching in preparation for his leaving.
It seems that the "narrow gate" is the narrow gate of relationship with the Lord. "I do not know were you are from" indicates lack of relationship.
Vv 28 & 29 seem to be directed toward Jews who think that they will be saved simply because of having been born Jewish. Not only will they not be saved, but many non-Jews will.
