(1) What kind of person is allowed to live in the presence of God? (v. 1)
* It is a place of relationship
* Because God is holy, He does not look upon sin without bringing forth judgment.
* Men are aimless without a relationship with their Creator
(2) The kind of person who abides in the presence of God must be right and do right (v. 2 - 5a)
(3) This kind of person receives the promise that he or she will never be moved or stagger from the presence of the Lord (v. 5)
(4) This kind of person was impossible to find
In the OT, it was clear that this was impossible, so the cost of daily and annual sacrifices are implemented as atonement that would allow the sins to be covered.
Even the High priest had to offer for himself.
(5) Finally, this Person came and fulfilled the oath (v. 4) - ;
Conclusion:
(i) In Christ, what we could never perfectly do is satisfied. ; .
(ii) This means that the promise of is ours to claim.
So, tonight, we remember how Christ fulfilled what was necessary to restore us to the presence of God.
