Introduction:
The sad truth is that many of us don’t look at love as a positive experience.
Thus the saying, “We hurt the ones we love the most.”
What if we could flip the script and say, “We love the ones that hurt us the most.”
Today we are going to see how to not only experience the love of God but also learn to express the love of God to others.
Think about this failure verse with me:
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.
God Is Love
Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God. Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love.
1 John 4:
In this the love of God was made manifest among us, that God sent his only Son into the world, so that we might live through him. In this is love, not that we have loved God but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.
Last week we discussed How God is composing a symphony to be performed by an orchestra of His people.
We all have an important part to play. No matter how big or how small.
God has gifted us to share His symphony with the world and that symphony is love.

Love is The Measure of the Spirit (vs. 1-3)
Love is The Measure of the Spirit (vs. 1-3)
1 Cor
1 If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal.
Love is not a gift but a choice.
Love is not a gift but a choice.
It take no special talent to love with the love of God.
it is a yielding to the Spirit and letting God love through you.
Love is first a possession then an expression.
Love is first a possession then an expression.
2 And if I have prophetic powers, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. 3 If I give away all I have, and if I deliver up my body to be burned, but have not love, I gain nothing.
1 Cor 13:1
Prophecies and tongues were messages from God.
God’s message will always be one of love.
Love is only understood in the presence of God.
When we perceive the love of the Spirit in our own lives, we can then release the Spirit of love in the lives of others.

Be patient or longsuffering:
Giving people the room they need to grow in the Lord.
Letting people make mistakes along the way.
Maintaining hope when hope seams to be lost.
Be Kind:
Be nice.
Handle people with gentleness
32 Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.
Eph

7 Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
1 Cor 1
Bear all things.
Always give the benefit of the doubt.
Never give up on someone.
Never let circumstance determine your love.
What Love is not.
What Love is not.
4 Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant 5 or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; 6 it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth.

Love Never Ends
Love Never Ends
God is Love
Love has always been and shall forever be.
8 Love never ends. As for prophecies, they will pass away; as for tongues, they will cease; as for knowledge, it will pass away. 9 For we know in part and we prophesy in part,
1 Cor 13:
10 but when the perfect comes, the partial will pass away.
1 Cor
Love is complete while prophetic gifts are partial.
Love is complete while prophetic gifts are partial.
The gifts were in anticipation for the completed Word of God.
Some would argue that “the perfect” in this passage refers to Christ.
But Christ has never been partial.
And he has already come.
The revelation of God was in fact partial until the closing of the cannon with the final revelation given to John in 96 A.D.
The words of God we complete to mankind.
A blessing and a curse were added to the Word of God.
18 I warn everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: if anyone adds to them, God will add to him the plagues described in this book,
18 I warn everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: if anyone adds to them, God will add to him the plagues described in this book, 19 and if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God will take away his share in the tree of life and in the holy city, which are described in this book.

Prophecies will pass away.
That which has been prophesied with come to pass.
We have all of human history before us in the scriptures.
Tongues will cease.
Tongues were a sign to the Jews.
Tongues were a confirmation gift of God’s Word.
Knowledge will pass away.
11 When I was a child, I spoke like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I gave up childish ways.
1 Cor
The need to discern the
The completed Word produces a Mature man.
Gifts of prophecies were development stages of the Bible.
12 For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I have been fully known.
What was a dim mirror is now the perfect law of liberty.
22 But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. 23 For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man who looks intently at his natural face in a mirror.
James
24 For he looks at himself and goes away and at once forgets what he was like. 25 But the one who looks into the perfect law, the law of liberty, and perseveres, being no hearer who forgets but a doer who acts, he will be blessed in his doing.
James 1:
Bible Believers: The Bible is our finial authority for all life and practice.
13 So now faith, hope, and love abide, these three; but the greatest of these is love.
1 cor 13:
When we mature in the Love of Christ we will be able to walk in faith, hope and love.
