Introduction

Unity like the Father and Son

United in spirit

United in will

United in purpose

United in works

United in speech

It is not necessarily something we work for, it is a reality.

But we still live in the flesh

Unity with God and Each Other

Action: Prays for all who will believe

Purpose: So that they will all be one

Purpose: So that they also may be in the Father and the Son

Purpose: So that the world may believe that the Father sent the Son.

The Means of Unity

Action: He gave the glory that was given Him, He gave to them

Purpose: So that they may be one

Purpose: So that the world may know that the Father 1) sent Him 2) loved them as He has loved Him

United in Heaven

Action: He desires that they be with Him where He is

Purpose: To see His glory that He has given Him because He loves Him

Knowing the Father

Action: He made the Father’s name known and will continue to make it known

Purpose: 1) That the love which He has for the Son may be in them 2) And He may be in them
