Enjoy Faith

Beautiful day to be outside. Almost not quite two weeks ago. I was in the state of Montana and it was, it was minus 20 and then the Sunday before I was in Florida for a 30 Fahrenheit and I came here and I'm very confused, not sure what the weather is going to go to Uganda work. I'll be back up there or something. So I just go in and out of climates, just change, but the word of God never changes, right? That good, I should glad the word of God is not like a thermometer doesn't go up and down. It's always the same and I love the songs, they beat them into submission, that was great in. Your phones are great and what I consider 25 years

Creed, I believe this and I believe it who sings do something for your face when you declare. This is what I believe and then we do it together. So we can do this together for those online for those. In the room. We're going to look at some things about what we believe. And really I'm going to talk this morning about face, I'm going to have one word to the title. It's enjoy face. And my goal is to get everyone of you to smile in the next 30 minutes. So somebody already there you're cheating.

They just go back to being British. Okay? We need to know from scripture. How To enjoy fight dates. Not drudgery me the whole definition of faith is Faith is the substance of things hoped for. This is Hebrews 11:1, if the evidence of things not yet seen. There's something that we haven't seen yet. That God just purposely doesn't allow us to see with our natural allies and yet he says, but I want you to hold on to the Hope or faith is the substance to give substance to what we're hoping for how many hoping to have lunch today hoping to have lunch? Yes, we'll have faith. I will be done soon. Okay? Have faith. Keep having faith and I'll wrap this up and we'll, we'll get you to lunch cuz you're hoping at some point today. I'm going to have lunch, right? The Greek word for Faith. Assembly piss, piss. Piss. Piss means belief. Or firm persuasion. I like this to your insurance. That's what that word means to have a surance, a firm conviction. This is what faith is, very interesting. When I was filled with the Holy Spirit and got saved back in 1982. Yeah, last Millennium last millennium Shi group 25 years in the Episcopal Church Anglican church. And I believe that there was a God, I believe in God, I believe in God Almighty, the god, that we prayed to every Sunday in wrote. And I believe that, I just had no personal relationship with his son. He was there. He was part of the Liturgy. I had a memorized but I know relationship. It's interesting. When my wife and I got married, we were married just two weeks. We are out in the western part of the United States and I was in the hotel business and we just got into this town. We're going to be there, 6 weeks to open a new hotel, number to move on to another city Denver Colorado across the street from where we're staying this little storefront. I mean it's about this many people in a small little storefront church and had a big neon sign flashing, Full Faith Fellowship. Both Faith. By the way. There's a church Wednesday night. Let's go over and check it out on Wednesday. I'm going to church Sunday morning, 10 to 10:50. 1050, you don't get done 11. Everybody freaks out and wants to quit. From 10 to 10:50 is when you go to church on Sunday morning, right? It's Wednesday night to church. Okay, so we went over and we went in and at night, the pastor was teaching on why you need the Holy Spirit? I thought, I don't know, I don't know nothing about all this. I knew that the Holy Spirit or actually, if we suddenly Anglican Church, the Holy Ghost, I thought it was, and Holy Ghost all three syllables. Holy Ghost, the Holy Ghost was the end of the song person from a relationship and then he invites people to come and receive the Holy Spirit. And there I was and then suddenly, there was my wife, just the two of us. The only two people who broke their think. We'll take. It will receive the Holy Spirit by Faith. Pastor pray for us. He laid hands on a piece of receive the Holy Spirit who we did, receive the Holy Spirit. Something changed. We were filled with the Holy Spirit May throws up. It's like wow. Service, never miss Wednesday, Sunday morning Sunday night. I went to more Church in a month and I didn't last 5 years I just got don't we could stop going because we found a relationship with Christ through the Holy Spirit and we actually begin to understand faith. What does the name of the church was Full Faith Fellowship? I came from empty face to full face. Holy in. when I found out about it was faith is a gift. It's amazing. Faith is a gift. How many like gifts. We got gifts up here by the way if you want to give up here. So I assume this is giveaway, right? Maybe get a birthday gift Christmas we like it's okay. God invented gifts, he invented them he is and faith is a gift and my challenge to all of us is we need to enjoy. Okay, not only the gift We need to enjoy The Giver. And if he chooses to one of my favorite verses reminds us visas, to Way by Grace, you've been saved through faith. by Grace you are saved through this Avenue of Faith to believe in what is believing in something you can't see evidence of something hope for And this is not your own doing call said, this is not your own doing. It is the gift of God. It's like wow. I have to be reminded of that by Grace you are saved through faith. Not your own doing you having a party that night my wife and I received the Holy Spirit. Holy spirit that was God's gift to us. Holy spirit as a gift. it was a wrong doing, we were minding our own business, we were on the other side of the street that looks like let's go check out that building on that church on that Wednesday night is amazing because 3 months before this is June of 1982 in March of 1980 to three months before we're on the other side of the United States were three thousand miles away, minding our own business In a prophet, dr. Bill hamon, who's one of the father of the prophetic movement of the 80's 70's, and 80's. He's up in his eighties. Now, doctor bill hamon came to that small Church. And he prophesied into that small Church don't ever despised the day of Small Beginnings. A group of about this many people said, the day is coming. I'm going to spend heads of hotels and motels in to this church. Maybe left, never came back to that church. And 3 months later, my wife and I Stumble in on a Wednesday night for filling that very prophecy. See if we can try. But I was a recipient to be for the faith that was in that prophetic word. The Bible says, we prophesy according to the proportion of our faith opening a season profit when God showed him that he prophesied it, we fulfill the three months later. Wow, evidence of what was hope for the Unseen became scene and it wasn't of my own doing. It was a gift that I have faith that night in March of 1980 to know how many others fighting United States. Minding my own business, I had a wonderful plan for my life. I had a great. How many things you have? A great plan for your life, he doesn't always reveal it all at once but in heaven and in Destiny, God has a plan for everyone of us and it is so much better than the one we think we have. So. Just spoke a prophetic word into that small church. That I'm going to send this guy in here. And his wife, the day is coming, it was three months later and that was, that was my moment of saving faith for God said, I'm going to save him. I'm going to fill it with my spirit and look, and I'm doing 35 years ago, almost thirty-six years ago as a gift or something for him. That's why he gives it to us, so we can do something for him because Christianity is built on one fundamental platform. Face your face, we refer to it as our face, my face. Remember my next door neighbor, but rarely see, but he was out, walking one day older than when she retired doctor from the one of our local universities. He was walking. I never seen about walking so I just have ourselves and come to find out. He just had surgery and was kind of walking for therapy. He was grumbling about it, at least. That's what are you doing? I'm in Ministry, and I travel whole time like a little short testimony in.

That was his response than what I did. And what, I wish I had your faith. I'm going to pray for you because you can't have this kind of Faith would refer to think we prefer to people and how they live as well. That's your face. I wish I had your faith. What you're saying is I wish I had. I wish I knew the guy. I wish I knew The Giver of your face, really this, we develop our faith and all that. So how does it work then? How does space work in our own life? And how do we enjoy it? When they say, I got to fight the good fight of Faith? But you know what, I'm finding in the whole realm of space that you know what God wants us to enjoy it. There's all kinds of ways we can apply Face. Paul was writing to Titus and chapter one and he said Titus, you're like your son in the common face for the common fate. There's Times of little faith pieces pointed out that people had little faith. Oh, ye of little faith. And then, there's a time you come into the Centurion, I haven't found such great. Faith in all of Israel, make a face and there's a strong face like Abraham Abraham, being strong in faith, and there's this active Faith, that's active, and we can measure it. Like James said, James talked about those having active, which turns into asking Faith. Let him ask in faith, nothing doubting, right? Turn all these ways we can try to say God help me in this. Help me. Enjoy my face. You don't enjoy face. I want to enjoy it. I got to have it, right? Because Hebrews 11:6 is very clear without faith. It's impossible to please him. That's kind of absolute, just like you better, at least have faith. The police got that Christianity runs on your relationship with God. Runs on this fuel called, faith is day, was even saying, I'm going to send you a daily Bible reading, but you know what? You need to exercise face, to even read that and believe it. Right. He's a believe that God is a rewarder of those who diligently seek him.

So let me help me with three ways to enjoy face. I think they're kind of simple and there's something we can plug in and do everyday. And number one is, we can enjoy faith in our works, are in our actions, in our very living, our daily actions, because faith is ultimately a work of God than anything that we do in faith is also work of God enough we can enjoy. In that. Okay, it starts by what just coming to Jesus as you are. How do I work my face? He's come to Jesus, Take Your and again, lord, it's Monday. I'm tired and I don't want to go to work. Let's start there. No, religion is some people need to wake up and say, good morning. And other people say good God this morning. So tell everyone to come to him. Come to him. Okay. And Dave put the scripture up there. Early Romans 10:17 space. It comes. Aren't you glad it doesn't make space stays away. Faith comes by what the act of hearing anyting? No hearing through the word of Christ or the word about Christ. It would say the Greek, The first of all, we start out by saying, how do I enjoy face? Well, start with the joyful action, okay? Or the joyful work of hearing sometimes. Go to work at hearing white, we live in a world that's so competitive for our ears. You know, we have that where the earphone generation and as much as I fly, I thank God for your phone, it blacks out a lot of the nonsense, my own little world for a few hours but you know what? Everybody's competing. To get your attention. Everybody wants to say something to you, but there's a text in email somehow a billboard. There also is a listen to me. I've got something to say to you and faith comes by. Hearing the words about Christ has to be about Christ. So, why is that? Well, I love John 15. When Jesus goes to this incredible story about, I am the vine and you are the branches, great analogy. And it gets down to the purpose of all that that relationship and Bruce 11. He says these things I've spoken to you. I have spoken to you. That means you got here. I'll speak you hear that. My joy. I know Jesus is joyful because have joy. He is Joy. He's not sad, he's not grumpy, he's not grumbling today. He's had to sit there, like this one of those guys would come wake up on pay attention, and Italy, smile, for Clem. Well he wants to transfer his joy to you through speaking.

And your joy and result would be full-grown Christianity. Quite a bit. I'm in Dave said I'm in 9 or 10 different nations every year plus all over the United States. And you know what I would have to say everybody's a little low on the joy level. I find it in most churches. People live in. Love the tank, need to be filled up. Enjoying, are you enjoying your checking off your list? You have to be here. Jesus speaking to you any societies words that I speak? I'm doing it. So that my joy that Sammy might be in You by train today, if nothing else. Just be a transfer of the joy of the Lord, the joy that he has to come from another realm. If not Earthly, not based on the weather and it's kind of slow and I'm think I'm going to make it one circumstance called eternity. But I should make you happy with him. I'm speaking to you for the joy to send me can get into you. How does it come by hearing? So we need to enjoy, right? The action of hearing. Curio word from God that daily devotion. I think you can anticipate any. I'm going to get some Joy tomorrow. Dave is going to send out of work and the exit of my hearing that was some pretty joint. I'm going to look for the joy in it. There's also the joyful action or the joyful work of fighting. She's being a promise in the word of God that can be joyful to find. There's a promise that's going to keep me going something. God says in his word, it's his promise. And you know what I can find promises from God that brings Joy. I think we all know that the greatest promise the greatest promise is eternal life, right? But watch how this is wrapped in scriptures and Luke chapter 6. Go look at verse couple verses book, a 22 starts out with this. This is right out of the Beatitudes and you probably don't have this one memorized like the others are blessed with the poor in spirit. There's one that's really good. You may want to write it out, put it on your refrigerator, your bathroom mirror. That's a good one. Blessed. Are you like that parts of our blessed? Are you? When people hate you, it's not a great scripture that great promise you feeling better already. So I can because I hate part. I'm not sure about the Blessed blessed. Are you when people hate you, when they exclude, you, how you feeling And reviled you. I feel better already, keep going, this is good stuff and burn your name as evil. On account of the son of man blessed, are you? No watch. What's her reaction. So what's it? But I'm not going back to that church again, rejoice in that day. And watch leap for Joy. Look at that. Kind of crazy. What are you when people hate you, when they exclude you they revile, you and want to spend any money towards these people hate me and I just keep reading, but okay, what am I doing rejoice in that day and leap for Joy? That's called abundantly abundantly ready. I'm so happy.

Leap for Joy. What stop focusing on what's going on? He seemed leap for Joy. For behold, that's a key word in the Greek. If he still sees with your eyes behold, your reward is great in heaven.

Your reward is great in heaven. You say how do I enjoy space? Well, you enjoy the action of finding a promise like that. That's not a promise. Yeah, people hate me. The excuse me, the revivalists burning me. But you know what? That's not why? I keep my joy. I keep my joy in my sleep. I leaped for Joy. Why my reward is not in them or the reaction to me, or the reaction to the gospel. My joy is in another dimension. My eternal Joy is in heaven. And you know what? That's a promise, no one can take away. You can't take that away.

I'm out sleeping wonder and I love what God has for me. The promises of God will work. Never working on a a promise which is now ties into the work of prayer. Do you have that? You have the work of hearing the word, get the work of finding a promise like this but then you work the promise. That's what we call prayer. Prayer is taking a promise to God and working it. There's actually a joy in taking a word from God and putting it into action, that's fake. And so, I never really praying in space. For the first month, I really was trying in faith. Faith is the substance of things hoped for the evidence of things not seen one night, we were first. Child might have been one John who's going to 34 next week so this is 33 years ago and for some reason I had to get this pain in my eye my right eye irritation wasn't like I got a piece of sand in it that was just this pain I tried all the stuff I tried to print it out. I tried all kinds of things, they would not go away and it's not really bothers me that my wife had already gone to bed for nothing.

Call Mike ice hurt when I doing. On a promise for the calming scripture of being healed by God Supernatural healing. But this is my moment where I was like okay I need. I need a promise. I need something that works here. I don't have money, I can't go to the doctors middle of the night. I need to do something. So I went back to the fundamentals. I said I'm going to find a promise from God and believe it and I found good old 19 hold. I give you over all the power of the enemy and nothing shall by any means hurt. You now that I'm paper looks really good.

I was just for me. I don't know, but I saw it. It's like the holy spirit said that your promise, okay? But my eye hurts do it again. So now I have to go into the work of faith. I got to work my face so I read it again. Behold, I have given you authority over all the power of the enemy and nothing shall by any means hurt. You know what I heard. I got the last part. My eye hurts but you said you'd given me Authority new stuff. I start work in the scripture. You work, the scripture that's how you work your face with your words with your prayers and praying this back to God. I thought you said you've given me authority over all the power of the enemy and nothing shall by any means. Hurt me, but my eye hurts. So I just heard you say it again.

And I'm getting loud and I can't explain it. Other than what the Bible says, faith comes by hearing it was my hearing okay of the word of God over and over that was building face. And I got to that point is that nothing shall by any means. Hurt me and I guess what my eye hurt. But I got it. I want to do it again and my passion started going down the interstate again. What's your heel to go? Not

You have a break. I had a church nearby Christian Church. Okay so has done famous work. Go to bed.

A code of my Earthly father. Many years ago, you need to go to bed, go to bed, go to bed. Go to bed. But no, I got in bed and I just drifted off to sleep, woke up in the morning and no pain. When was I healed? I was killed when God said. So, I was killed when God said, so and I received it by faith. When was that when I stop arguing and I finally said, yes.

And I just submitted to his word, I submitted to it. And so some faith is the evidence of things hoped for I was hoping for healing. I didn't have the evidence. Can't wait until I woke up the next morning but face it. Okay, I'll believe you see if there's a part of obedience that comes in drink before you get what you want. I'm still hoping for no pain in my eye but I'm hoping for obedience first, but I want you to obey me. And trust me first, trust in the Lord, with all your heart and lean not on your own. The bad guy went to bed, it'll be idiots up here. I want you to get that much. That much money on Sunday. You know, I need that for lunch on Tuesday. He says, never trust me, I love you. But lunch is when we argue our way through God's voice sometimes. That's a good thing that's going to get some of you. Hope you're having a good argument. We got your doing okay? It's when he stopped arguing with you. Either here or you're not engaging anymore have a good argument. Come let us reason together.

Sometimes what we really need is space. In the works of Jesus.

And his provision to be working in, are working in my working. I need to know that Jesus is working in my working. That makes sense. He says, he's right there with me, he's working in my working and he loved me. I kind of bought if I teaching your child, how to ride a bicycle, right? You have a training wheels are wobbly.

What is such a good father, he works with are working. You love to be there as we work. Our faith. So we enjoy Faith. Okay? And are working on it as we're working face isn't in the joyous, it works. It really worked out so happy this morning cuz I was healed, but I also was happy because I worked the promise of God and he was faithful, Joy faith in our warfare. That's another way we can enjoy Faith. You think about that? Enjoying Warfare. Well, I get that out of the Bible. 1st Timothy 6:12, Paul said to Timothy fight, the good fight of the face, fight the good fight of the faith. I don't know about you. I'm not really a fighter by nature but I like competition, I like a good soccer match football game, a baseball game, or watch the basketball game on my iPhone.

I like competition. I like a good game to me. A good game is when my team wins. That's a good game. Because of technology. Sometimes I'll record a game at home when I'm traveling. And then when I get home, I can watch the game. But only if we want, if we find out the score and they lost, I don't watch it while it's not a good game. I'm not going to watch the game right now. I have to sit through an hour of lost souls. Like I treat you know so I can check the score, good game, right? It's a good fight because what we win? Fight the good fight of Faith. Take hold of eternal life to which you were called about which you made a good confession in the presence of many witnesses. This ties now into our world, our Warfare ties into our work but looking it's good. It's good fight. It's good Warfare cuz we win. It's got like a fist fight. But yeah, he's a guy. I went to spite them and I don't want to fight him David. I'll direct the stone to the Giants head. Just throw the stone. Just take your sword out in Chapel Hill Hill to get Brittany to be right for us.

There's that there's a Sanctified cheating that God does for us. He cheats on our behalf. He'll whisper you answers. You don't know what like you did with Peter when Jesus gave up Pop Quiz. One day, tell the disciples. Chris is over here for the call. It's for the students are not expecting a test in the picture cuz I was okay, everybody. Good morning. Clear off your desk. Take out a clean sheet of paper. Write your name of the top. Number one through 10. In everybody goes panic mode. Go to the test coming and they didn't know, and they didn't prepare, and then his study and everybody's in panic mode. Take out a clean sheet of paper for you. Here's the question who do men say that I am and somebody from the Old Testament book of Isaiah is he can come up with all kinds of answers here. The fisherman. I know that was the Christ, the son of the Living God, All the disciples.

My dad cheated, dad cheated, my dad was for him. The answer. Peter did not reveal that to you for you. They whisper do the answer my Father in Heaven, revealed it to you, he's almost easy. I know Peter. Peter didn't have a clue. Yes, I know he did to help. So guys, I tell you answer a test question from the Ward. You ask the father to come pick some times that we're going to win, that's something we don't win all the battles, fighting Waging War, Waging War fight the good fight. 1st Timothy 1:18, bird classic music and go to verses on Waging War with Prophecy with words of God has already spoken. He said, Timothy discharge, I'm giving you a cording to the prophecies that went before. I knew that by them, you can wait good Warfare. Good Warfare. It's called the worker, there is an actual, its campaign, a military campaign. So when we get words on a Sunday, preached at us, when we got a prophetic word spoken, there is a Warfare element. Cuz the enemy does not like the word of the more. He doesn't like this book. He doesn't like it. When it comes out of the mouth, of a human becomes, a sword, just like him and got the proper size, that's all Warfare for him. He's going to fight it because if he doesn't his kingdom will be over much sooner. So there's this constant resistance and so he says holding face and a good conscience. You have good worker, hold on to the word of the Lord in space, hold on, in a good conscience. That's what part of wage war Fair. With the word of the Lord. He says, guess what? It'll be good. You'll enjoy it. It's so good to know when God. Prophesy something junior? Senior. I never saw myself doing that. I don't even hardly believe that, but I'm going to grab hold of it.

How many times? My wife and I clung onto very simple. Prophetic words from God, been going for thirty-some years that very first year. We were in Ministry 35 years ago, short phrases, don't trust in the man. Don't trust in Ministry. Trust in the Lord, your God, he's only right that you don't understand how much that one into us and we've lived there year after year. After year every time we're in a battle many times in the Battle of provision we're believing God to provide for me and I'm looking to what man? Yes, I natural. I'm looking to people that I'm looking for Ministry. I don't know how any one of this church. This week. We need this much money, praying for this much, honorarium for this church, to give me that. Okay, every time I try to the man that got knocked the legs out from under both of them, And then surprise. He supplied a totally different way and then we'll come back with this word, but I tell you, don't trust me, I don't trust in the Lord, your God.

How much time we got? Play my famous furnace story in, December 7th to go in December, is my last Minister trip before Christmas, so it takes a few weeks off. And we needed to be spent $1,000 for a month for a budget for Christmas all that. So we pray God please apply $1,000 for the rest of the month to get through Christmas. So we're praying for $1,000 and I take off early Friday morning before the sun came up. So just talked to my wife cuz she was like, literally, say goodbye to me. We say goodbye the right for a smart, good night. And don't wake me up in the morning yesterday.

I'm gone I get to church and the pastor pick me up from the airport and the first things out of his mouth is you won't believe what happened this week or what? Are you still in the face already? You won't believe. Okay, try me. You won't believe what happened? No joy o. The boiler went out in the church. All really like you are like driving back with you or so I get the ER story all the way back. If we ordered it hopefully we'll have heat tonight for the meeting. Hopefully we'll be praying for you brother.

I know he has his final race. We don't have the money to pay for it either. That's why we came into the weekend the weekend. So we go through Friday night, they got the heat on it's Friday night. We are meeting I've made amends with you Saturday morning Council the couple in the afternoon. Had a Saturday night, maybe Sunday morning for preaching, get all done. I sit down the path to get something to eat before we close today. We're going to take a special offering for me. I've worked all weekend. I think this is your moment. He gets up and he starts telling the boiler story. Estimate on a minute, had to get it in by space laces and sold this morning. We're going to take a special offering an incentive for our new boiler. Ferguson of praise God. Hallelujah by that new boiler. And there goes my honorarium, they're closed Christmas. And I was just like that for the boiler. And the service, I went back to this house, had a quick sandwich off to the airport, I go. So, you have to the airport. His phone rings. Yes. Yes, brother, really praise God, that's great. Hallelujah. God is good. A man for you will believe it. I guess, you know, I'm leaving again, all the money came in for the boiler and it's either going my money. My money. Brother, please. God is faithful.

I still haven't, I haven't had a drop me off at the airport just my brother's this is for you. Appreciate your ministry. Merry Christmas God is good. Open up the envelope for the point of the airport, open it up, slide it out. Now, my airfare, my airfare was $389, that was my airfare to get there and back. So I pull out this check It was $400. So now I'm doing that in the corner and I'm upset and I do the math, I'm dollars from $400 to $11. Isn't that wonderful? $11. Okay. I got $11 and I am going to type. But you're not getting one penny more than $1.10. That's all you get. I'll give you an extra dime, but I just grumpy and mad. And so I have to call somebody Of course, I want to call my wife and complain old man of great faith.

Hell. Yeah you woke. I'm in now I'm in total Faith. You won't believe they can tell me all week and I won't believe now. Somebody's got to not believe who you won't believe what they did to me on the phone. So I'd like to say something like you poor thing,

Oh yeah, I forgot to tell you. I did we talk once on Saturday and they have a Friday. In the Bell. Someone sent an anonymous check for $1,000, Friday, it was at my house. Before I landed at this, other Church of God had already sent the Thousand that we pray for. I'm asking for, but I was looking to what don't trust him and I was getting mad. I was looking to buy minutes, 35 minutes or hard. All weekend, I'll get don't trust him and don't trust, trust in the Lord, your God. And once again. I felt like, I just like, I do this for the unbelief out of, you. See, how much fun believe we have and then he arranges things in our lives to remove unbelief, but the guy said, what I believe, help my unbelief put my unbelief. You know, that's the thing is going to block your belief or unbelief. The god came in. Said, I'll take that unbelief right now, but that out of me so that I could afresh trust in the Lord. Not a man, not a Ministry. I didn't mean to go to the one that's enjoying faith in your worship. And I'm not talking about just musicianship, I'm not talking about carrying a tune and keeping up with the right lyrics. I'm going way outside of just singing. And I want to finish the First Peter chapter 1. It's an incredible text because Peter really went through an incredible process of drawing in his face like I did tonight and it didn't end as costly peeling back the layers off my onion and I cry every time I post a little later, but he reveals more unbelief because God wants me to do what you do enjoy face. So here's a rendition of it is a little bit sick but just listen to these first 9 verses 1st, Peter chapter 1 verses 3 through 9. He said blessed be the Lord God and father of our Lord, Jesus Christ. Lots according to his great Mercy. He has caused us to be born again you start right? They're going to this is all his work. We think we did. We actually think we have a big roast?
