Title:Complete Departure
Application: Salvation is available to you this morning. Once you trust Him the things of the world will fade away. Keep your guard up. The enemy will use the world to trap you! You have overcome!
Note: I know last week was a lot of information but we ended last week with the journey you are on as a believer. You trust Jesus as your Savior (Child-Like Faith), As you grow you start thinking about the things of God and maybe take a Doctrinal Stance on certain things and question different Doctrinal issues, and then as you Mature in the Faith, you come to not only know the things of god, but you Trust in Him fully. You live for Him, You Worship Him, and You Share with others about Him. That is the Christian Life and indicators of Faith in Christ Jesus.
1 John 2:15–17 NKJV
Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—is not of the Father but is of the world. And the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever.
Indicators: *Relationship not Acquaintance, *Life of Joy, *Living in the Light and *Absence of Darkness, *Fellowship with other Believers, *Confession in our Christian Journey, *Realization of A journey of yearning toward holiness and a Advocate in Christ because He paid our debt, *Learning to Love God with Everything we have in Us and *Loving Others as Jesus Loved Us, *Absence of Hate, and* A Spiritual Journey of Milk, Meat, and the Presence of standing In Awe of God as Saints of God knowing He set You Free.
4 Types of People that have heard the Gospel of Jesus Christ
In
Matthew 13:3–9 NKJV
Then He spoke many things to them in parables, saying: “Behold, a sower went out to sow. And as he sowed, some seed fell by the wayside; and the birds came and devoured them. Some fell on stony places, where they did not have much earth; and they immediately sprang up because they had no depth of earth. But when the sun was up they were scorched, and because they had no root they withered away. And some fell among thorns, and the thorns sprang up and choked them. But others fell on good ground and yielded a crop: some a hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty. He who has ears to hear, let him hear!”
Note: Jesus Clarifies these 4 people: The first hears but it nevers moves in his/her life, the second person hears but there is no root and falls away, then there what I believe is the spiritual dead person that hears and knows but just cant get set free from worldly things, and then the one who produces.
The Enemy knows your Weakness. He knows that dark place in your life where he can attack and catch you off Guard.
Ephesians 2:3 NKJV
among whom also we all once conducted ourselves in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, just as the others.
Jesus knew the Enemy would find away to Attack at our core.
John 15:18 NKJV
“If the world hates you, you know that it hated Me before it hated you.
John 15
Note: knowing the indicators we have been studying and knowing the types of people who have heard the Gospel of Jesus Christ, What can we discover from these verses?
1. The World is Incompatible with the Walk of a Believer.
1 John 2:15 NKJV
Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
1 John 2:15
Note: what if you say, I cant whip my nature to sin?
YOU ARE A OVERCOMER
1 John 5:4–5 NKJV
For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith. Who is he who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?
A person in Sin hates the Light
John 3:20 NKJV
For everyone practicing evil hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his deeds should be exposed.
A. Jesus Took our sin debt and set Us Free
Colossians 2:13–14 NKJV
And you, being dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He has made alive together with Him, having forgiven you all trespasses, having wiped out the handwriting of requirements that was against us, which was contrary to us. And He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross.
Col
B. The Holy Spirit Lives in Us.
Psalm 119:11 NKJV
Your word I have hidden in my heart, That I might not sin against You.
C. We Know the Strategy of the Enemy.
1 Peter 5:8–9 NKJV
Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. Resist him, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same sufferings are experienced by your brotherhood in the world.
Not only do we know the world is incompatible, but we know the trap is explicit.
2. The Temptation is Explicit.
Note: Any violation of God’s Law is Sin.
Just what we looked at Last Week LOVE GOD and Love Others.
(Discovered from
A. The Lust of the Flesh.
Paul wrote to the people in the Book of Romans and told them sin had taken its tole, Sexual sins was devastating homosexual sins were prevalent and God looks at society and says: Gave Them UP...
Romans 1:24 NKJV
Therefore God also gave them up to uncleanness, in the lusts of their hearts, to dishonor their bodies among themselves,
James
James 1:14–15 NKJV
But each one is tempted when he is drawn away by his own desires and enticed. Then, when desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, brings forth death.
Not Just Sexual Sins

any attitude, speech, or action that opposes God’s law

B. The Lust of the Eyes.
The Eyes can see the wonders of God
Proverbs 20:12 NKJV
The hearing ear and the seeing eye, The Lord has made them both.
Psalm 8:3–4 NKJV
When I consider Your heavens, the work of Your fingers, The moon and the stars, which You have ordained, What is man that You are mindful of him, And the son of man that You visit him?
Romans 1:20 NKJV
For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse,
The Eyes can also be used to fulfill the fleshly desires the Enemy desires us to fulfill.
Job 31:1 NKJV
“I have made a covenant with my eyes; Why then should I look upon a young woman?
Job
Psalm 119:37 NKJV
Turn away my eyes from looking at worthless things, And revive me in Your way.
Matt
Matthew 5:27–29 NKJV
“You have heard that it was said to those of old, ‘You shall not commit adultery.’ But I say to you that whoever looks at a woman to lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart. If your right eye causes you to sin, pluck it out and cast it from you; for it is more profitable for you that one of your members perish, than for your whole body to be cast into hell.
C. The Boastful Pride of Life
It is said this sin motivates every other sins, even the two we just listed (Flesh and Eyes)
Luke 18:11–12 NKJV
The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, ‘God, I thank You that I am not like other men—extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this tax collector. I fast twice a week; I give tithes of all that I possess.’
Proverbs 16:18 NKJV
Pride goes before destruction, And a haughty spirit before a fall.

Instead of accepting that reality with appropriate humility and gratitude to God, sinners exalt themselves and seek p 89 fulfillment in things that glorify the creature rather than the Creator

Listen the Enemy knows your weakness and you better guard against it.
In the Garden the enemy told Eve that if she ate the fruit she could be like God ( she did and she fell)
In the Desert the Enemy told Jesus that All could be His if he worshipped him and tried to make Jesus prove Himself.
Flesh, Eyes, and Pride in both circumstance was at play.
In The Garden
Food- Flesh
Attractive- Eyes
Wisdom of God- Pride
In The Desert
Food- Flesh
The Splendor of the World- Eyes
Jump and Lets See God- Pride
Don’t think you have him beat.
What can we learn
The World is incompatible, the temptation is explicit, and God is still on the throne.
3. God is on the Throne.
John 8:51 NKJV
Most assuredly, I say to you, if anyone keeps My word he shall never see death.”
John 14:1–3 NKJV
“Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also.
